Title: Gamecake.net
Post by: Artis Leon Ivey Jr on April 26, 2008, 07:57:42 pm
Ordinarily I dislike promotion topics that aren't GW specific but this is by the old creator of GW, Bart.

http://www.gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=5447.new;boardseen#new

Bart's creating a new game upload site that I've spoken with him about and we're thinking of partnering with it until GW6 goes up. So far he's in the beta test stage, and offering invites to people to test. Feel free to check it out in the above topic, and discuss what you think the cryptic stuff I just said really means.

I don't know wether to take the news of a warranted need for a "temporary intermediate game upload site", as good news or bad news.

I mean, it means it really will be that long before GamingW can fully function as a game portal site, which means that when GW6 does come up, it's likely going to have been worth waiting that long for it.

thanks steel!

@EvilDemon
gamecake has NOTHING to do with GW so what I am doing at GameCake should not affect GW6 at all. Hell I am not even coding GW6 so therefore I don't know how you see this CORRELATION

I don't think that Gamecake is replacing GW, persay.  It's just a game upload portal, where uploaders can also display information and screenshots about their game, I think.  So people will still use the forums to hype and gain feedback for their project.  They'll just link to Gamecake for the actual download, rather than Filefront or something similarly irritating.

So don't cry.  REJOICE!  Dance about and sing!  Hop up and down with excitement and GLEE!

I like how everyone willing to try out gamecake is either new to the community or not a G&D regular.

I may not be a G&D regular but I do have experience developing websites, which means helping to find any security flaws, errors, bugs etc.

i think he's criticizing the fact that G&D doesn't care about anything, not you!
