So, while roaming youtube looking for a video of a song I really liked I came across this lady.
she does covers of Flobots "Handlebars", Dredg's "Bug Eyes", and a few more. As well as some original stuff too.

This topic is basically about posting some cool musical stuff you've found on the internet through youtube, myspace, or any other community based web sites. What you think about the artists and the music they produce.
Do you think this sort of thing is great for networking and artistic growth? Or are the few diamonds you might find really worth digging through the GIGANTIC HEAP OF FAGGY INDIE SHIT that these communities attract or what?

i was looking on youtube for... something. i don't remember. anyway i was on it and i found this guy who's like a ONE-GUY band. he's unsigned but he has this recording studio in his basement i guess and he just makes these really professional/cool songs (considering he is one guy!) completely by himself. like, he plays rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, and does the vocals too. the whole thing is really pretty impressive!

i really dig this song (http://www.traxinspace.com/song/40098) by some guy named janne hanhisuanto (http://www.traxinspace.com/profile/hanhis).
i actually found out about this guy by hitting the RANDOM SONG button on modarchive many years ago and have been keeping tabs on him whenever i can. fortunately now he uses his traxinspace account to upload most of his stuff. regardless, i really love his music. it's always struck me as pretty genuine, which i don't really get a lot of when digging through random internet peoples. maybe you will like spending music-listening time with this guy as much as i do????????(it will remain a mystery)

also there's this guy named jacek dojwa who recently went professional(POLISH MUSIC SENSATION) that went under the handle falcon a while ago during the tracker years. i've listened to unreasonable amounts of music by trackers over the years, but i have yet to find one as talented, interesting, and unique as he is. i don't know how many people i suggested this to, but i do remember chef really digging this guy a long time ago after i introduced him to this music if that means anything at all to you
unfortunately his music is SCARCE now but this nice website (http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=2630) has a rather extensive archive of his work. unfortunately that link is a very broad assortment of his work, so the selection can be somewhat hit and miss given the amount of songs he made when he was really young.
just download these songs(all pretty small) and if you are not hooked you can probably skip over this guy completely(ignore the filenames he's polish and they don't know any better):
la petit prince_
'twixt cup and lip..
french connection_
sofa surfin' (short)
there are lots others but off the top of my head those are some of the best.
also it's worth mentioning that this guy is now known as the significantly better half of the electronica duo husky (http://www.huskymusic.pl). i would give his husky work a louder endorsement but some of his husky work is actually just reworkings of his tracked music, and the rest are basically his music with a not-particularly-impressive vocalist. something of a bummer much of the time, where i'd wish the woman would stop moaning in silly polish languages so i could hear his nice music

lastly there is this trance artist named jordan aguirre (bLiNd) that i found out about through the videogame remix scene a while ago whose music i've always really liked. i don't always dig trance this much, but i think this guy is pretty special.
fortunately he has a website (http://thebrailroom.com/) with a decent assortment of various original songs and remixes, most of which are pretty enjoyable.
of note is the remix of the final fantasy 10 song white skies, which i think is the best game remix i've ever heard, mostly because it's the only remix that takes an otherwise dreadfully boring song and makes it really interesting. unfortunately he only has the club mix on his website, though. he made two versions, the CLUB MIX and a regular version which was only released on a videogame remix album, and the regular version is far superior to the club mix i think, even though the club mix is still pretty good on its own.
idk i don't really know if people will GO FOR THIS but i like this lots
there's lots of other stuff by indie folks that i like, but a lot of it are these really fantastic isolated songs or stuff that is just not available on the internet anymore). maybe i will go into greater detail about this later and suggest more people(when i am not so lazy)

Bunnylick, that guy reminded me alot of the dude from Gorillaz for some reason.
And Hundley I listened to Kulta from the first link and it was pretty great, I'll check out the other stuff later.

Diggity really blew me away when I first heard Bruce Genitals. As a release I think it is one of the better things available EMOTIONALLYT SPEAKING on the net but it feels like old news now. I never get tired of telling people to listen to it but most of the RL people I know kind of laugh at me and say "WHAT IS THIS, PUT ON SOME LINKIN PARK." Which annoys me.
I think GW is harboring some pretty amazing talent, like Drule and Lars who I just don't think have really ended up tapping into a sound where they output a full release that makes you go OH SNAP, but I'm waiting for it to come out. If you dig hard enough you can find some really great stuff by these guys.
I also remember Teloch put out an i,mountain EP which was really good and probably still available in the MC forum. I haven't heard much else from this guy other than the one EP but it was this kind of, downtempo glitch music that was really minimalist.
FINALLY I guess Xerxes (http://www.xerxes-music.com/) is a big guy to come out of the internet. He's busy off doing tours and stuff now but there was a time when he was just a regular tracker making little .it file music on the demoscene.

If you're into Japanese indy bands, Japanfiles.com would be a good place. Mp3s are cheap at only $1 a song, plus you get to sample the song beforehand.
I'm going to have a site for my music when I feel like I'm good enough, along with myspaces, soundclicks, etc. I also plan to get a band together, but first I would like to improve my own skills.
