So i've been out of high school for a year now and its time for me to go to college . I got accepted into Savannah College of Art and Design (http://www.scad.edu) but can't decide on a major I've narrowed my top choices. I'm just looking for some feedback from anyone who might have experience in any of these fields.
Graphic Design
Photography
Animation

I have college experience in the top one, and a hobby in the second one. I am currently taking a community college program in commercial art and it's pretty fun. If you've never worked on a Mac computer before, you'll likely get the chance. We get lots of projects working in mostly the Adobe Creative Suite 3 software. If you've played with Photoshop and liked it, then this is probably the kind of program for you. You'll likely work with other CS3 programs like Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
If you enjoy photography, then I don't see any reason you wouldn't like a major in it. There's a lot to learn though, so be prepared. There are a lot of elements to photography - so many more elements than I would have thought.
Can't really comment on animation much. I monkeyed around in Maya 9 and 3DS Max (8?) and sort of enjoyed it, but was rather frustrated because I didn't know what I was doing.

Probably Graphic Design is more marketable, so I would take that one.

Yea i've dabbled in all three Photoshop, 3ds Max, and took a photography course in high school. However I can't really decide which I like the best. Graphic design is probably the highest in demand but I kind of figured I would learn photoshop in animation when dealing with textures and concept art...

My brother goes there, but I don't talk to him often enough to give you much insight. All I know is that you'll have a lot of projects, little time to do them, and some sort of required class where you have to memorize a SHITLOAD of art pieces and all the information about them.
I don't remember the name for his major but basically he is planning on designing products. I think it is industrial design or something.
