man that is easily the worst cover I've ever seen

I don't know what the english word for it, but this reeks of "trass" (just doing something opposite as the standard for the sole purpose of being different)

non-conformity is the nice way of saying it, garbage is the better way.

the funny thing is they could actually have genuinely conveyed their message by having just the word COVER ART on there, but they wrote the NO, thus making it a HEH...IRONY thing. and yes, in interviews they said something like "ah, we wanted to make people question what cover art is with this" which is just hilarious.

It's not so much the content of this one but just the colours and empty space. I like simple albums but I just think this one is pretty ugly.

This was just an album cover I really liked. It was simple, used EMPTY SPACE correctly and had nice simple colours. It's probably nothing specialy to you guys but I wanted to show it as an example of how to NOT do the peace orchestra route above.

It's psychadelic but it has personality.

It's hard for me to really say THESE ARE GOOD ALBUM COVERS because all the ones I have lying around my collection are NEAT but not GOOD if you know what I mean. They work as album covers but they're not going to make anybody laugh or THINK. They just look.

This cover does the album no justice whatsoever. Looking at it makes you think it would be some boring music and if you bought it thinking  so you would be horrified by how atonal and experimental this album was.

This is one of my favorite album covers, it is just as confusing and nonsensical as the lyrics.

The photo is of some teenagers running from police during the Civil Rights Movement era. I like it because it's so intense and striking. I mean, look at that girl's face and look at the number of cops. Thae layout of the text up the top is also pretty good. Nothing flash, and out of the photo's way.
There are some alternate covers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Things_Fall_Apart_%28album%29#Album_Covers) that were made, and they're all pretty good. To my knowledge, the one pictured is the main one now.

I also quite like King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_for_a_Day..._Fool_for_a_Lifetime) by Faith No More. It fits in very well with most of the songs: aggressive and loud. Just three colours on it.

That album cover is so amaturish(so very "my first photoshop") I assumed it was one of those bootleg albums filled with 20 minutes bad recordings (from some random place which may or may not be legit) and 20 minutes interview from people who would occasionally work with him. I only picked it up as it was for £2 in sale, and it's awesome.

True case of never judge an album by it's cover.

I can't believe that guy is legitmately a rapper, I tried to find some of his music, is it horrrible? Surely it must be the worst thing ever, I'm gunna try find a white dawg cd also.

Right, it's based on that. Pinkerton is roughly inspired by the opera Madame Butterfly, which involves a Lt. Pinkerton visiting Japan or something.
