Alright, Ubisoft just released one of the hugest cockteases I've ever seen.

There's nothing being confirmed but I highly doubt they would put together a 2 minute trailer using a brand new engine and release it to the public just to be dicks.  Anyways, this was described as "Ancel's latest project" and as long as that guy still remains in charge, I have full faith in the direction of the game.

For those of you that haven't played Beyond Good and Evil, do it.  Do it now.  It was a despicably short but very fun and lively game.  Although the story was linear in design, the overall craftmanship and style of the game's universe was pretty original and pleasing to look at especially for a 2003 ps2 game.  Jade is pretty much the coolest female protagonists because she's strong but the writers never stoop so low as to make her a sex object.  You can respect the fact that she's a reporter that knows martial arts and uncovers government conspiracies head on.

Yeah, I'm stoked even though I know the game, whatever it may me be, won't be coming out for another 2 or 3 years.

I will be immensely satisfied with the year of the rat if Nintendo's bad influence on Itoi's psyche wears off and he suddenly announces Mother 4.

Whats with the pig? (Also, just imagine, how would we *eat* pigs, if pigs can talk and be human like *_* )

I played part 1. I remember it was on a demo disc, it was pretty swell, but it didn't make me want to go out and buy the actual game.

The pig is Pey'j, Jade's adopted father of sorts.  The game takes place in the world of Hillys which is filled with all sorts of strange anthropomorphs, humans, and weird alien guys.  It's kind of like all the aliens from Star Wars except they're interesting an not at all annoying.

I'm 99% positive the "person meditating" under the parasol is Jade.  This scene could probably be referencing the end game where they defeat the badguys on the moon and are basically stranded (maybe they plummet back down to earth I don't remember).

The game is 5$ at any game store.  If you see it for the love of god buy it.

Yeah, man; this was, like, the best news ever when I heard it. If ever a game was criminally under appreciated in recent times, it would be Darwinia. Or Noctis. Or, you know, BG&E. The game was basically crying for a sequel with the ending, come on ;(

This is totally the best gaming-related news in a while (apart from rumours of a Skies of Arcadia 2, but I've heard nothing about that since then)

Only thing is that im not gonna be able to buy this because A) its not even sold here and B) if it was it'd be $75 minimum (thats the price of "old" ps2 games)

SO I guess I'll have to..."obtain" it from.... other sources...

Haha I remember how I bought the original BG&E and Zelda:WW on the same day and BG&E (which I just bought because it was cheap as hell, like 5 dollars despite not being that old at the time) was so much better than WW that I think it took me like a year before I started seriously playing WW. Funny thing is I'm a rabid Zelda fan and I had been anticipating WW's release for a long time and when I finally got the game this BG&E game which I had never heard of just came along and stole the show.

Anyway great to see that they're making a sequel (I never expected that, games like this never get proper sequels) and I hope this one sells better than the first did.

Man, remember Metronome for the 360?  What the hell ever happened to that?

Also, I never played Beyond Good & Evil, so I don't know how to feel about this.  It's like $5 used for the PS2 so I should probably just get around to buying it already.  I like adventure/platformer games and everyone raves about this one so idk why I've put it off for so long!

jesus that blows.  all those weird music-themed environments with burtonesque atmosphere seemed really cool!  in fact it was one of those things i banked on eventually coming out as a reason to buy a 360 to begin with.

Man, that's some major leap in terms of graphics from the first game. I read that the video is made by using the in-game engine - it looks fantastic!

I'm sure anybody that finished the game may notice the bandage on uncle Pey'j left hand.
Everything in the teaser was so perfectly place........ it was beautiful. And thank God Ancel is in charge. I didn't want to see the the direction of the game to change if someone else was in charge.

st read this game(part 1) on a gaming magazine, not sure I liked it. But I read many positive reviews and claims about it.
And with that grphics for part 2, I'm convinved I should get that game.

Also, that pig. I alwayys remember duke nukem when I see pigs.

Yeah.  I was a little surprised too but I doubt it'll look that good in actual game play when there's tons of things happening on screen at once.  MGS4 was pretty groundbreaking when the first video was shown but when you actually watch the in-game gameplay it looks slightly better than Crysis.

Yeah, but looking at the hi-res screenshots it doesn't look THAT good. It still looks pretty damn good though.

I had BG&E for the Gamecube awhile back. I thought it was gonna be stupid but was amazed when I found myself playing the next morning and the next morning after that....and then some..........

beyond good and evil was cool.. i vaguely remember playing it. you take pictures and stuff, i remember that much.
the characters were cool.. at least the pig was.

i guess a sequel is cool, but i'm not really on the edge of my seat about it.
