You are amazing Psyburn.Yeah plus the signed sleeves given out at the London signing went for $500 on eBay.
I can't seriously believe that someone would get excited over something like this.
Man Psyburn, why would you stand in line for 9 hours to see a man who mightn't even look at you and probably doesn't care about youStrangeluv, sorry but you will never understand what it's like to have a hero. Also, he's no William Shatner, I know that based on personal testimonials.
Also, just get your dad to buy the game for you.
he seemed like an alright guy when i meet him... doesn't speak much(if any) English thoughYeah, he seems to have some very limited skill though. At the London signing he signed "NO PLACE FOR HIDEO" by a fan's request. Also during one of the podcasts he said "....Ai....rei...k..... de...de uhh...movie...loganz...run.."
Join Psyburn for the signing of a video game!

By the way Konami, thanks for ignoring Scandinavia. We're part of Europe too!
I can't seriously believe that someone would get excited over something like this.
Why would anyone know people like that?Better. I will say their dedicated to.. whatever reason it is they wanted to dress up like Kingdom Hearts characters. Something like this would never reach New Zealand so it kinda sucks really if I did ever want Kojimas autograph or pay a ridiculous amount of money for it online.
You are amazing Psyburn.Oh come on, it's Hideo Kojima.
I can't seriously believe that someone would get excited over something like this.
Yeah plus the signed sleeves given out at the London signing went for $500 on eBay.Because of people like you.
Strangeluv, sorry but you will never understand what it's like to have a hero. Also, he's no William Shatner, I know that based on personal testimonials.jesus christ man there is just so much wrong with this post
Yeah, my dad will probably come with me. Only he's a really boring person, so it'll be terrible to wait 9+ hours in a line with him. Since Virgin only lets you get one item - THEIR ITEM - signed, I'll end up with two signed MGS4's. I'll sneak in a copy of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake which he WILL SIGN. Than I'll go home to GameStop, pick up my copy of the LE and go to his second signing, get that signed and another item I have at home.
I can't guarantee I will be able to get the autograph for either of the signings. The first one is at midnight, but the earliest I can show up is after my school exams. 1 hour train ride, taxi, etc will probably be 1-2 hours. So maybe 2:30-3:00pm? which is 8 hours early. The second one is very slim as it is at 5:00pm, and my school ends at 12:30. If I don't either well, I'll be very miserable as I've literally had dreams about meeting Kojima for the past 6 years.
I'll probably sell off one of the copies on eBay for to cover all the costs + extra. Not sure if I want to wait a month to get Lee Meriwhether to autograph them before that.

I really would only do this if a bunch of friends and I were bored and like OKAY LETS DO IT NOTHING BETTER TO DO.avril jone 2: kojima edition
jesus christ man there is just so much wrong with this postYeah I could, but I'm kinda dumb. I decided to arrive 7 hours early than the originally scheduled 9, hopefully it will still work out. Also, in no way is an autographed metal gear game worthless. I get a little obsessive and crazy about getting autographs and shit so............ Tbh my dad doesn't really need to put up with it because I don't really talk about Kojima.
could you really not pick a better hero than kojima? is this really the MOST IMPRESSIVE GUY you could come up with? waiting nine hours in line is beyond me for something as worthless as an autographed game and being "very miserable" if you miss it because you've been dreaming of the day you would meet him for years apparently is actually legitimately kind of disturbing. i can't believe your dad would put up with this shit.
jesus dude. i like the mgs series but damn. i only had to wait in line like an hour and a half to shake hands with BARACK OBAMA.I collect autographs, stuff from game developers are usually much harder to get than with anyone else. Barack Obama does a shitload of public appearances. I've always showed up 1-2 hours early for most signings like Bill Cosby and Gene Hackman, and I'm usually one of the first few to get something signed. At conventions I never had to wait longer than like 15 minutes. Hell, at a Nicolas Cage signing it went so fast I didn't have to wait at all. The longest I had to wait was 4 hours for Bruce Campbell, because the system was fucked.
Why wouldn't Psyburn want to meet a guy who made a game he likes?well you really don't meet these people. considering how apparently hundreds of other people are lining up for this, he'll see some metal gear developer for 10 seconds up close, get an autograph, and then leave. this just seems pretty ridiculous for a squiggle of lines on a game or photo. if he enjoys doing this there's no harm done really, but you have to admit it's a pretty strange fascination. i can maybe understand celebrities more, even though i still think that makes no sense, you could probably GET MONEY from selling that kind of stuff. with a game developer more or less it's just sentimental value. also do any of these people speak english even?

also i think it is pretty funny how some people who meet CELEBS will say "hey i saw john malkovich walking down the street and i said hi to him. he seemed like a great guy!". no one in the topic is really saying this, but i hear it all the time and it's pretty funny how people will create this image for someone based off seeing them for 5 seconds.
True but still its always nice to see them in person. I got to see Chamillionaire once when I was going to the bathroom at a club he was performing at and he said wasup and shook my hand it was awesome. You shouldn't shake hands with people in bathrooms really no matter how many chamillions of dollars they have
You shouldn't shake hands with people in bathrooms really no matter how many chamillions of dollars they havemark i like you a lot do you know that

psyburn do you find it embarrassing that a lot of people who were waiting in line for kojima's autograph thought you were socially awkward to the point where they thought you were drunk at allNo, because I'm hardcore.
Hhahhahahahha this is ridiculous and awesome, the way you described Hideo signing your game. Why didn't you take the time out to think of something cool to say before hand?Hideo Kojima can only speak Japanese so........

Why was he surprised by that game? Is it rare or something, I don't get why he was surprised you brought him something he made to sign even though most people were just getting mgs4 signedLike headphonics, most people don't talk about his early work anymore. But the major thing is that MG2:SS is a very rare game. It's not very often that he signs MSX games.
Man, that was a great story, but you still should have said something to him... Just pick words that he'd probably heard before. Picture it: you go in, he's sitting there, you toss him a copy of the game to sign, he autographs it, and in the split second he pauses to hand it back, you lean forward and say "cheeseburger spiderman dollars" or something. He'd have been confused and slightly freaked out, and in that one second you'd have strucken a blow for anyone who played MGS2.ahahaha this is such a good idea
Also, are you going to sell the cover once it reaches a certain level of value or is it a 'pass on to my grandchildren' kind of thing?
Those guys are just stupid. Why get it before a PS3 when chances are that there will be copies of the game available by the time they buy the system?

Does Psyburn have a ps3? I thought he just bought it so he could also get it signed.
to get it signed by hideo kojima/just in case there's an error in an early copy/because they can.Why is an error desirable? :o

How is it rare and valuable when he travels all over the world and signs to thousands of people?
uh because compared to anyone else popular and famous thousands of people is really really small!!Yeah but anyone who actually cares about him probably got it already.

Errors in anything make them sell for more if they get fixed quickly to collectors. I've seen like Yu-Gi-Oh! cards with no name that go for like 5x the price (in the hundred dollar range, basically), or even just a simple typo on a game case or something dumb like that can really add to the price when you sell it.
Because collectors like to collect this shit.

The first one is $177 with 8 hours left.
Yeah, it's funny. I had a talk with Handsome Lamb and I estimated that the autographs on a game would go around $200. Yeah, that's an expensive game but overall it's not that valuable. Go buy a painting or something.
Those 300 limited sleeves that goes for at least $399 right now are what can become somewhat valuable though. Everyone else thought they were clever and got the game signed when they should have tried to obtain something far more exclusive. At least you got that MG2 thingy signed, that's good.
ya but dude for a normal signature okay but i was pretty sure we were talking about MG2 with Kojima silver marker signature (the only mg2 i know that was signed by him lately (possibly ever), and the only thing to be signed in silver prettysure too) which would obviously be worth WAY WAY more than 200$.
hell mg2 by itself is easily close to the 200$ range now, I think.

The game itself goes for around $310-370 on eBay.

DUDE. Psyburn. I must have seen you. I walked by that huge line outside of the Virgin Megastore. Were you one of the three people screaming KO-JI-MA for the cameraman?Well if you scroll up I'm in the beginning of the video there talking to that dude.
At the London signing he signed "NO PLACE FOR HIDEO" by a fan's request.
