If you ask me, the golden rule to any action game is that there should always be a way to get through without taking damage, otherwise, it's just cheap. Ninja Gaiden 2 is one of the cheapest games ever fucking made!
Aye, some Ninja Gaiden fanboy might pop in and say "You're just shite at games. Only the hardcore can play Ninja Gaiden", but I'm not gonna take any notice unless he can supply me with a video of someone beating that fucking flying silver centipede boss thing (or any of the bosses) without taking a hit. Seems to me that the only way to beat a boss is to stock up on as much health restores as you can and just attack like a lunatic! Where's the satisfaction in that? I wanna learn the attack patterns/weaknesses and exploid them, not just kamikaze my way through.
And that armadillo boss that explodes without warning after you beat him, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!? I hope Itigaki gets hit by a bus and raped by a bear while he's dying. The fucking prat.
-
Well, I heard NG2 was easier than NG1, but... still people complaining! Oh well.
-
I've only played the demo but the game seems to be as cheap as the previous game. I don't really understand the NG fans who says these games are alot better than the Devil May Cry series.
It's a joke.
-
Yeah. Devil May Cry requires skill, Ninja Gaiden's currency is luck.
-
NG3 was probably the hardest in my opinion, though NG1 was tough too... never played much of the 2nd one so I wouldn't know...

Man this isn't what he is talking about.
The centipede boss was definitely the worst thing ever but I don't know man I really love this game. The action is SO tight and precise.

It is, but you gotta agree that the bosses require more luck than skill to beat.
I'm guessing jman00's going on about tne NES game in some kind of smug "Hah I know about retro games" kinda way.

On the note of Devil May Cry, yeah you just have to get really good. I can go through levels without getting hit...sometimes, if I'm in the real playing mood.
But for Ninja Gaiden, it's ridiculous. I love NG games though, so I'll be getting this. I really love them, no matter their frustrations. They are cheap sometimes, but idk I just love them.

The Centipede boss is pretty easy to beat without taking a single hit. His head has a weakpoint that hits for around 15% of his total health (it's around the height of his forehead) and a level 2 fire ninpo that hits the head deals around 30% damage. Just use all three ninpos in one shot, make sure to hit the head and then shoot a single arrow. Time the ninpo so that it eats the flying centipedes it sends at you and just dodge the flying heads when they're near and you should be good.

man, I love ninja gaiden, unfortunately, not as much as devil may cry, but thing is that xbox=NG and ps=DMC correct me if I'm wrong. so I can only play NG, whihc is great, but unfortunately its just not as fun as devil may cry. fuck i got stuck at that sewer level on the first game where you fight all those centipedes. god damn, its hard (also, fighting that dinosaur skeleton thing boss that one time was fucking hard when you have half health and NO healing potions, but it only took like 6 tries or something like that to do it without getting hit so uh, just keep at it really

Dude DMC 4 is on 360 so you can play that.
The worst thing about the original Ninja Gaiden was the stupid motorcycle guys. MAN they made me furious (I don't remember if they were in the original version or not).

DMC4's on the 360 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma's on the PS3. I hear NG2's gonna hit the PS3 now that Itigaki's left.
-
That's the way I feel about it as well, when being crowded by like 8-10 fiends blocking and dodging doesn't matter worth a damn. By about chapter 4 Ninpo Art of the Inferno was pretty much my best friend for clearing out groups of enemies. Oh, and the cheapest enemies ever? The damn wolves wielding knives or machetes or whatever in their mouths... bastards.
-
I'm only upto Chapter 3, but the camera is the most annoying thing ever. And the projectile shooting enemies are the cheapest. Otherwise, its not that difficult, but I heard the difficulty shoots up in the middle of the game. I'm trying to get through the game without using healing stuff except for the save points and so far I'm succeeding.
The battle system has improved, but the enemies are much cheaper.
I find the lunar staff good for fighting crowds, but I also use the dragon sword a lot.
Basically, when you turn a corner, throw shurikens to locate enemies/slow them down. Keep doing the reverse wind + jumping away from crowds, while throw shurikens to make them break up the cluster. Use flying swallow to hopefully kill one, or follow it with a quick combo, get away and repeat. Once you have one dead, get a way from the group and start charging up your UT, and once one gets near, unleash and repeat for a while. I usually lead enemies to a wider area for fighting because they usually try to ambush you in narrow locations.
As for bosses, just keep retrying until you find a good tactic and you can get through without healing. I'm playing on warrior btw.
Oh and the fiend's bane bow rocks. Now I can take out those damned flame arrow shooting ninjas.

Wait 'til you meet the guys with the rocket launchers and the guys with machine guns. There's this bit where if you're not continuously jumping, you'll get shot. Now the machine gun fire doesn't take much energy off you, but it stuns you, so you're open for a raping from the giant mecha things that're close by.

Although I don't own a 360 anymore so I can't play this I did play the original, got about half way through and from what Ive read & scene it's a bit of the same with a few additions. I was really expecting this game to have some multiplayer I mean it would have been pretty awesome taking on people with that combat system, and seeing as the games hard enough as is but then playing people around the world who have also played through the game!
Is this game harder then the original cause I still plan to get me a 360 in the future and was just wondering cause I had a bit of a hard time with Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox?
-
oh shit multiplayer would have been fucking sick!
-
How the fuck do you beat the exploding turtle thing in Chapter 7? I kill it, it explodes an its insta death. Its fucking pissing me off man!

Block, foo!

Block, foo!
How? :fogethuh:
-
Left trigger.

Left trigger.
I doesn't work... glitch maybe? I'mma see if I can get another disk.
-
Why do you think it's the disc before thinking your controller is broken?
-
You could try using a ninpo as it explodes too if the block doesn't work. It should though.
EDIT: I never tried the ninpo thing though. Block and hold it as soon as you finish off the boss.
-
^The Ninpo thing worked!
-
Yeah, as a general rule, always remember that if something is unblockable or very difficult to block, you can always use a ninpo to go right through it as they last FOREVER and make you invulnerable the entire time through.
-
fuck i quit! the first one is too hard/cheap. i'm on that part with two electric worms. its fucking annoying

This game is pissing me off too man... its not that its hard but its fucking cheap.
-
Eh, I'm on Warrior mode and its not that bad but people have said that it gets really cheap on the harder difficulties.
I find the Rocket guys ridiculous though, especially because they don't have to reload, and they just keep on shooting. The best way to deal with this game is to play cheap, which I find disappointing. One of the main reasons I loved NG1 was that it wasn't cheap, and you could always find a way to get better without playing cheaply.

Aye. I find myself doing that flying swan thing (forward + Y in the air) over and over just to survive. It's isn't very satisfying doing the same move over and over, but anything else just gets me slaughtered. The mecha guys are fuck-wads!
