So, I just started playing Age of Conan and for some reason after playing for about 30 minutes to an hour my computer shuts down suddenly for no reason.
Its not hibernating or anything, I'm pretty sure its just because my computer is overheating. I tried lowering the specs for the game but it still keeps happening. I tried stacking stuff underneath my computer to keep it elevated so it can ventilate but it still keeps happening.
There is also a really loud buzzing sound it makes when its loading the CD for the game, I don't know if this is related or not.
Please note that I don't think the game is too heavy for my computer to run, I've run a bunch of other high spec games perfectly fine and this has never happened before. And my computer has only overheated once and that was because I was sitting it on my lap when I was laying down and the blanket I had was blocking the vent thing, that was like a year ago and it hasn't happened since.

Maybe it's too filthy inside and all that dust and dirt is blocking the fans

that might be legitimate and I'm gonna check but it sounds like the fans are working

I had this problem on one of my older laptops (and plenty of other laptops -- it's pretty common). The fans are either going or clogged. Or maybe the VENT is clogged. But you'll always hear them running.
Look for the exhaust points and fan-intake areas. Get a can of compressed air (blowing in it will NOT help) and just shoot that bastard like crazy.
Dust and lint and the like cake-on very easy. My 5 year old laptop had this problem for a while -- I opened it up and that was the ONLY way I could get out half of the crap -- and when it came out, I couldn't actually *SEE* the fan blades or the space between them.
It's obviously an overheating issue, so you may consider also propping your laptop up and making sure vents are open and have like a foot of space between them and other objects.

yeah I just went to walmart and bought a canister and just sprayed the fuck out of it and alot of shit came out.
Its mostly because of the ship I was on though, the ventilation system sucked ass and there was dust and crap in the air all the time, breathing was like chain smoking it was so damn dusty it would fuck up your lungs.
Somebody told me to get my comp cleaned when I got home because that stuff would fuck it up and I thought they were full of shit but apparently they weren't...
yeah, I just played for quite awhile and it didn't crash so I guess that worked THANKS INRI
