Story
The story in Knights is told in both a forward and reverse fashion, with the revelation of past events - what happened at castle Avenheim - being used to decide and explain the events of the present.
Characters
Wisp: The player controlled character. Possesses Knights in order to take part in battle.
Maria: A Knight and the heroine of the story.
Other known Knights include Diana, Hildegarda, Rudolf, Rolf, Masenda, Bertha, Bergman and Annelotte.
I didn't even know there was a Department Heaven Episode 1-3 (WTF kind of name is this?) but it looks kind of interesting and it'll probably be rare so what the hell.
Except Final Fantasy games don't take place in the same universe! (well, most of them curse you Ivalice Alliance).
In the unveiling article for Knights in the Nightmare, it was explained that the worlds share a common Asgard, but no further details on their relations were explicitly given. In a later Dengeki Maoh article it was revealed how each game interacted in the Universe, each initially taking place on the overworld and being connected in some way to either Asgard or the Underworld.
Regardless, many connections can be drawn between Yggdra Union and Riviera, with Grim Angels, the World Tree, Fanelia and Heaven's Gate appearing in both.
edit: I always thought that FF games are settled in one world called "Gaia" o.o
I always thought Riviera was a western RPG.
I guess I never heard of this series the right. Though I'm glad it's not as anime as I thought it would be.
Seriously? Riviera is about as ANIME as you can get with long drawn out attack animations and 90% of the cast being girls.
