Films Releases: Week of June 22 - June 28

This is a new weekly topic dedicated to giving a deep analysis and information about upcoming movies for the current week at hand.
The articles will include a brief synopsis, associated actors, directors, producer, budgets, and my personal opinion about it.
Today we will be covering the films: Wall-E and Wanted.

Wall-E (theatrical poster below)      Overview
Release Date: June 27, 2008.            Distributor: Buena Vista
            MPAA Rating: G                                 Genre: Animation(Pixar)
            Run-Time: 97 Minutes                       Budget: 120 Million US

Synospis: Wall-E is the last of his kind as he is the only robot remaining of a now deserted planet earth. The reason behind the desertion of planet earth is the fact that it is now largely covered in trash due to consumerism and other subjects. The humans left the earth and place a "clean-up" program with millions of robots just like Wall-E. The program fails and the only robot left is now Wall-E to do the task alone. The story then turns to a "love" story betweeen Wall-E, and EVE, a probe sent to recover the last plant on earth.

Director: Andrew Stanton - Finding Nemo
Producers: John Lasseter - Chief Creative Officer at Pixar
                  Jim Morris
Actors: Ben Burtt - Star Wars
            Elissa Knight - Cars
            Continued Actor's List: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910970/fullcredits

Opinion: Wall-E looks like another genuine Pixar "kids" film when really everyone enjoys watching them. I believe it will get positive feedback from most critics and take in a large sum of money on release day.

Wanted(theatrical poster below)     Overview
Release Date: June 27, 2008.            Distributor: Universal
            MPAA Rating: R                                 Genre: Action/Adventure
            Run-Time: 110 Minutes                     Budget: 65 Million US

Synopsis: Wesley Gibson's father, an assassin, has just been murdered and he is looking to seek revenge. After his death he is offered a chance to follow in his father's footsteps as an assassin by Sloan, his fathers partner. Sloan's second-hand-man Fox mentors young Gibson as the follow death orders by the Fates, weaver's who read a destiny of human from mystical looms.

Director: Timur Bekmambetov
Producers: Gary Barber - Spyglass Entertainment
                  Roger Birnbaum - Spyglass Entertaiment
Marc E. Platt - The Seeker
                  Marc Silvestri
Actors: James McAvoy - Atonement
Morgan Freeman - Too Many To Name
            Angelina Jolie - Tomb Raider
            Continued Actor's List: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493464/fullcredits

Opinion: This being the directors hollywood debut may result in some mishaps or may help this film. With a nice cast to back things up, and a action packed story/trailer I could see this movie doing above average at the box office. If your looking for a cheap action packed moment I am sure you will find it here.

I haven't made up my mind about Wanted at all... From the trailer it looks like just another shitty generic Matrix ripoff, but I think it's based on a Mark Millar comic which is meant to be great and the director's the same guy who did those weird Russian vampire movies or whatever. So yeah, I'll wait until I see some reviews before I make up my mind on it or whatever.

thecatamites: Watch the Russian trailer because it has all the "hard r" elements that aren't allowed in American trailers.

Man I want to see Wanted SO BAD. I love the comic and I am a huge fan of Timur Bekmambetov's work. I loved Night Watch and Day Watch man......... I had him sign a Wanted mini-poster, the comic book, and an English translated Night Watch novel. I can't fucking wait.

Man Wanted looks so stupid.

Also I seriously don't care about Disney/Pixar movies and everybody thinks I'm some kind of emotionless monster or some shit god it's so annoying.

Wall-E looks preachy and I don't know about Wanted.  I never really cared for Angelina Jolie's acting.

How?  It looks like a pretty terrible, generic, kid's animated movie?

Not really. Finding Nemo was one of the greatest films of the last few years. They are all well thought out movies. And Wall-E looks like it has that same charm.

We must be arguing from different standpoints then because when I saw finding Nemo it was like slowly sticking needles into my eyes

I agree with this as I may have posted the American version in all truth the Russian version potrays why this film is somewhat worth watching.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not so just in case I'm going to clarify that no, it doesn't prove anything at all.

Yeah, when the first preview for Wanted came out, it looked really good, then the "fuller" previews came out and it started looking pretty gay. The Russian trailer has made me interested again.

guys don't waste your time jojoface has like the worst taste in everything i've ever seen.  i was JUST WAITING for him to come in and say wall-e looked incredible even though it looks like another stupid generic pixar movie and that comment about FINDING NEMO being a great film isn't really surprising either (but it is hilarious).  jojoface you are like clockwork!  seriously man all pixar movies are basically the same and unless you are a) a ten year old child, or b) that ten year old child's forty year old mother, i really can't believe you think any of them look INCREDIBLE.  it is like watching the same schmaltzy movie over and over.

also i saw a trailer for wanted and it looks really terrible!  maybe i will watch the russian one but idk, i don't really see OMITTED SCENES making up for the bad ones i already saw.

was that any good?  i was too young when i saw it to really GAUGE QUALITY but what i liked about it was how like forty years somehow passed over the journey.  like, think of how slow they must've been moving.  i have this image of like a rusted toaster and vacuum cleaner moving an inch every 3 months along the side of a road and it is pretty cool.

I thought Wall-E looked pretty interesting because he doesn't talk very much so you don't get all of that annoying ass kiddie film drama dialog and shit.

I might watch it but there is no way in hell I'm gonna pay to do so

i like all these movies but i fail to see any real major gap in quality between pixar's shit and who framed roger rabbit! maybe i need to re-watch both or something, i suppose it's been a while
