Fitting into the Gaming World…
A lot of GW’s older member’s have all had similar experiences when first joining the forums. Everyone at some stage finds it a slightly difficult to fit in and become a better member or whatever. So I made this article for any of the newer members or anyone just curious about how exactly 'Gaming World' works. Here's some helpful stuff to consider, obviously they aren't exactly rules or anything it's just some good stuff to keep in mind common sense. Welcome to Gaming World.

Contribute: Whether it's just participating in discussion, posting articles on the main site or taking part in our creative contests; contributing to GW is a great way to get your name known and maybe even respected. You don't even have to be a game maker, Gaming World has a list of talented musicians, writers and artists. Do you have a skill or talent you'd like to share with us? Then go ahead and get posting but be prepared for actual criticism (which in itself is a great way to help you improve constructively).

Be yourself: Contrary to the opinion of some GW’s members, this forum isn't actually about being in the 'cool' group or being elitist at all. You may have a hard time being recognized outside of the Game and Demo forum if you are a thirteen year old who loves anime and final fantasy because we are pretty much filled to the brim with similar members. We want to hear more about you than that, what makes you cool or interesting to someone you have just met? One of the best things about Gaming World is the variation in people who have joined, you'll meet all sorts of weirdo’s from people who dub themselves Hentai Lords to members absolutely infatuated with Grandpa's.

Harden up! If you are used to kiddy forums where everyone pats each other on the back then you are going to have a little bit of difficulty adapting to GW in the beginning. If we don't like something then we will say it, this is a discussion board after all, its for posting OPINIONS. When I first joined Drule asked me to stop posting, Strangeluv was a forum troll before becoming a mod and our current Admin DragonSlayer was banned pretty regularly! It's like real life, you are going to find some people that either like you or don't like you, just don't take anything too harshly because it's still just the internet remember? J Thats not to say we are terribly unfriendly either, we just won’t hesitate to tell you if we disagree with your passion for Dating Game speedruns.
Think: If you are unsure about whether you should say something then you should probably think about it first. It’s just basic common sense: we appreciate quality and different opinions are welcomed.
Laugh: Gaming World has it's very own sense of humor, we like to look at a lot of stuff ironically. If you find yourself being offended about something ask yourself for a second are they really being serious? Relax a little! A lot of everyday stuff is just too absurd to take seriously.

Come on Irc: This is one of the best ways to meet people, fight people, swap nude pics, make new friends and hear first hand from other members about what is happening on the forums. Go here for details: http://www.gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=20503.0
Gwiki: Basically GW has it's very own Wikipedia so you can check up on anything you would like to know about the forum members and the site history from its early beginnings as a geoshitties based board for original Admin Bart to post “cool picz” to its modern day glory. http://wiki.gamingw.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

Post count: Unlike some other forums this doesn’t actually matter; members with heaps of posts are treated the same as some of the newer members and vice versa. We are all equal! (Communism)

Relax: Have fun!
I felt a bit like I was 'bridging the gap' when I wrote this but I think it would be pretty helpful to sticky in the Welcomes/Farewell forum. (plus I was on holiday with my girlfriend so eat a fat one). Discuss any potential revisions to this also if you like.

It's always.. if you behave well you can be like SL. Look at him now.. he worked hard and got out of the hood and is now making an honest living heh I don't think I was ever THAT BAD
Anyway, cool read!
EDIT -
...our current Admin DragonSlayer was banned pretty regularly!
This makes me feel better about myself, like I could one day be a good human being..
