Title: Final Topic: GW Pips

Okay, I have added a runoff poll for all of the options in the other poll that got over 25% of the vote, which means the three above. This topic will serve two purposes, first and obviously to show popular opinion. Since the previous poll allowed you to vote for three options, it wasn't as accurate of an indicator than this poll, which requires you to pick the one you like the best. The second purpose is discussion of implementation. For instance there has been small debate on where the burger pips should be placed should they be implemented and also whether the lego pips should be as doppleganger presented them or horizontal like has had in his custom title. Some people have also touched on other ideas such as stacking them next to avatars. Obviously there are pros and cons to all of these ideas, so it would be good to reinterate and discuss them here. You may change your vote in the poll at any time, so if you are dead set on having a certain one of the options, attempt to convince people.

I will note, as you should already know, that popular is only a factor in this process and just because one wins by one or two votes, doesn't mean that is the end-all be-all of the decision. The admins will use all of the ideas and opinions presented here to make our judgement. If there is a clear winner, perhaps by more than 30% above the other choices, then we will obviously consider it much more heavily.

This is your last chance to have a say in the pips issue as when this poll is over we will make our decision rather quickly and that will be that.

The legos, if for no other reason than simplicity.  I like goldenratio's idea of using the hamburgers as a means to differentiate between different user groups.  Also, maybe your burger could change as you get a certain number of posts.

That's if the burgers are used for anything at all.  It's sort of a weird idea and doesn't seem to fit well with any other aspect of the forum design.  Maybe make them emotes instead?

at first I was going to agree with panda about it not looking good in practice, but then i decided to try and photoshop it in and it doesn't look half bad!

i'm not convinced yellow is the correct color to use for regular members, but other than that I think it's fine! Hamburgers are COOL and everything and it would be nice to be unique in being able to distinguish levels of members that way, but I'm not convinced they will fit.

However, like I said before, I don't really care what anyone does. If you guys want to do hamburgers and pips together or NO PIPS it's all good....

Hmm... I like the look of the legos... But... hamburgers. I'm debating changing my vote to legos, but I demand the hamburgers be used in one way or another, even if its just random hamburger week.

No, the burgers look terrible now that I've seen GZ's post.
The lego ones actually look pretty good, and I wouldn't mind seeing them being used for a bit. They aren't too bad, so I would give them a shot.

I am growing accustomed to the no pips thing, though.

i think we should have burgers to designate usergroups and no pips, that would be stylin imo.

both together is like WE ARE GW WE ARE WACKY LMAO

of course the burgers alone would be redundant since, the colors are what designate usergroups...

this is a conundrum but im voting for the least "supergay" option which is no pips.

I voted for burgers since it's pretty obvious if they win they aren't going to be regular old pips and the lego pieces look shit as far as I'm concerned!

The old pips were better than the lego pieces by a good margin, why would we move from fine to bad?

I mean no offence Doppleganger you are an excellent spriter but they are just not good for pips!

personally I'd like the burgers somewhere else. I voted for them because I was in GZ's poll and I didn't think it would work but I'm just gonna leave my vote there

atm I'd prefer no pips over dopple's, though he said he'd make them fit in better if they win so idk.

And in some strange twist of fate it turns out GZ inspired the very creation with which he prays would never happen. I am AS OF THIS MOMENT renaming gw to garbageworld and outlawing all colour/images/membergropes.

EDIT: Also as ridiculous as it really is, I like both lego and burger pips.

I don't mind the way the forums look right now, pips never served a purpose. I wouldn't mind if either won, though; I'm sure I'd get used to them.

The legos look fantastic. I think the hamburgers would be better if they didn't expand the area where the name is, but instead the big burgers would just go over the borders a bit (like in the example I made), easy to do with some CSS trickz. But well, I don't really know if the hamburgers fit in that good or not.

I think the legos look best.  The burgers are nice, but having them everywhere would get annoying fast.  If the legos do get used, they would probably be better either stacked sideways or stacked up beside the user's avatar on the left.  They don't work too well just lined up like normal pips.

They also kinda sorta have something to do with GW (somehow), whereas the burgers are totally random.

The colour just needs sorting out for the lego pips, obviously the normal member's pips wouldn't be jet black since that'd just be plain awful, but with a few changes to fit with the member colours it'll be great.

Let not your fear of burgers detract from the hope of awesomeness.

Seriously I'd rather have all this work put into implementing the burgers only to find out that they are a bad idea... than never being able to set eyes on a page of burgers representing our member's hearty appetite of GW. Burgers are a step towards a stronger visual field of GW.

put the pips in a bucket and pour concrete on top of them and then get on a plane in san francisco and fly towards japan and somewhere over the pacific ocean (ideally over a hurricane/tidal wave) drop the bucket and shoot a flare gun at the bucket as it's falling then use a whale horn to call all nearby whales to come and do their thing leaving the remains for the sharks
