hey, internet nation. i already made my first few posts elsewhere, but, well, hi! i'm laney, i'm twenty-two, studying sequential art (AKA comics) over at the savannah college of art and design. i originally hail from the UK, however.
i've been into game development for long enough to remember actually BELIEVING that "a blurred line" would come out in winter of 2003. however, it's always been just a hobby, i have yet to create anything i'm proud of.
i have the occasional tendency to get pretentious, especially when it comes to music, but just slap me around the head and i'll shut up.
wow, it's nice to finally de-lurk.

cheers to you all for being so welcoming, i always feel like a bit of an intruder when i join a new community, but hell, i love talking video games and design too much to hide any longer. though there's actually a video game design major at my college, it's really really dry, which is why i went into comics instead; i can program to a point, but i'm too scatter-brained to sit through the endless courses teaching me how to do so. i'm more of a "run around shrieking with a sketchbook in hand until i fall over" kind of girl.
as for music, i have an immense fondness for british artists from the 60s and 70s. i love the who, the kinks, the small faces, the buzzcocks, the sex pistols, siouxsie and the banshees, the pogues... oh, then of course, the talking heads-- david byrne is a genius. so is jarvis cocker, formerly of pulp... ooh, and the dismemberment plan! i could ramble on and on, but i'm sure you get the drift. :woop:
i'm psyched to be here!

you could join up with the #music channel on IRC . we don't really talk about music there all the time but we get some interesting things going every once and a while

Please, please post topics in the comics&anime forum about what you're up to.
oh, and i certainly will post, once i have something worth showing! at the moment, i'm just taking a comic scripting summer course, but i'll dig around for my old pieces from my materials and techniques and drawing for sequential classes. but yeah, i'm always drawing, so i'll be posting. :)
