strangeluv are you becoming a vet or something?
I think you're forgetting that classes have OUT OF CLASS stuff like homework and studying pal.So does full time education! I was in college in the last year for about 30 hours per week, and probably in lessons for about 24 of those, on top of homework and studying for exams. That's 4 subjects' worth, by the way. This year should be less strenuous (only three subjects), but not that much.

oh man. I am really jealous!! I've been indoor rock climbing twice before and it was a lot of fun! This sounds amazing!

?? the difference between classes and full-time education is what? also aren't you like 16? do they call high school college in england?14 hours according to maladroithim / Steel's exchange! basically highlighting that maladroithim has every right to be jealous considering there's still a huge gap timewise because homework and studying isn't different.
Hahaha AP is so worthless man. It is a huge waste of time.Yeah, that is why I probably will enter college with 35 credits, which is basically an entire year of work that I can instead do on electives or graduate earlier.

Yep, huge waste of time.
Yeah, that is why I probably will enter college with 35 credits, which is basically an entire year of work that I can instead do on electives or graduate earlier. There is no comparison between the knowledge gained in a real college class and that gained in an AP class. The atmosphere and material are totally different. So yeah you might get your awesome 35 credits -- and that is a MIGHT, depending on your school -- but when you decide to go to the next level of math or probably anything else you will find that you are missing a considerable amount of knowledge and then you will spend your time stressing out either trying to catch up or just outright failing the class.

he's just bitter cause his state doesnt accept AP credits at any state schoolWell, I took AP Chem in highschool (and then failed it) (The only available AP course at the time...), then took an equivalent course in college and while they may have been a bit different, they material was pretty much identical.
and because AP classes are nothing like college classes and why you get credit for them is beyond me.
Hahaha AP is so worthless man. It is a huge waste of time.
I don't care if I do well in the exams, more likely than not I won't be able to use any credits I could get, but courseload is important for college admissions. I don't care about the AP grades so much as the fact that I'm taking the courses and that I do well in them.Standardized test grades are so much more highly considered by colleges that GPA or course load has really nothing to do with it.

Good luck with that.
I am going into my first year of university and im doing computer science with software engineering specialty??? is what the student information thing is telling me...
I have for this semester:

Themes in Popular Music: MW 5:30pm - 6:50pm
Linear Algebra I: Tu Th 10:00am - 11:20am
Intro into Algorithms and Programming I: Tu Th 1:00pm - 2:20pm
Key Concepts in Computer Science: Tu Th 2:30pm - 3:50pm
fun i guess

what the hell what college does this.
I prefer to only have a break for lunch, besides that I like my classes as early as I can get them and as close together as possible with there being just a (roughly) one hour gap. You can't make any time-consuming plans during the week if your classes are spread throughout the day. For instance, if I want to go out somewhere and shop or eat or something, I can't do it if I only have a small period of time before I have another class or something like that. I'd rather have my free time be in big blocks.same, especially if you want to be able to have plans to go out or something in the evening, which are rendered useless if you've got RANDOM CLASS AT 6 on thursday or something

I'm considering going back to school and get a master's paid for by joining the peace corps. Environmental engineering/hydrology is hot right now and there's jobs all over the world for that stuff.
if you are a science major you probably dont have to join the peace corps. most of physics folk just get exploited as TAs. perhaps its different for hippie enviromental science though.I'd much rather join the peace corps though. Teaching a bunch of american college brats organic chemistry is not appealing to me at all. I'd rather help people get clean water for a couple years.
3 hours of System Dev.
3 hours of Programming
6 hours of Networking
6 hours of Unix
Rince and repeat for 8 weeks.

[b if i do my phd on astrophysics i would be confined to academia. [/b]i could always do a phd on engineering if i change my mind, or i could do something really aplicable to industry like biophysics. its not like i am hasty of getting rich; grad school for science majors is pretty much free (well it isnt because grad schools are the sweatshops of scientists so you are exploited a lot and get paid worse than a janitor but still you wont pay for grad school)hey man that isnt a bad idea.
you'll have a ponytail in no time
HOLY SHIT WHAT.peacecorps.gov has a list of schools affiliated with the program. The basic gist is that you have to get accepted into a masters program and then your peace corps service will count as some sort of credit and you're usually expected to develop your thesis while you're doing work over there for two years. Usually your tuition gets waived and you're given a living stipend to finish off the two years of schooling required for your masters program.
Yeah, I was thinking of joining the peace corps anyway, but talk about killing two birds with one stone! How does this work out? Does the Peace Corps have to be affiliated with your college/grad school or do they send a check anyplace you decide to go?
A friend of mine's sister is majoring in Developmental Policy, so she transferred to Ghana and goes to school there. Just a thought, I bet the peace corps could really use someone who knows that information.
But anyway, that sounds pretty badass. Not that it would be particularly useful to me, since I'll probably turn out to be a CORPORATE LAWYER and screw over the common man, but at least I'll have a guilty conscience when doing so.

Not a bad idea if you're interested in studying and doing useful stuff, not so great for people who don't really plan on doing anything productive with their lives.
1.) Spanish 7yeah the ap english literature exam should be fun haha.
2.) AP Calc BC
3.) AP Physics: Electricity and Magnetism
4.) AP Gov
5.) Orchestra
6.) AP English Lit.
Yeah, the reason why I take these APs is because I can't stand the other classes. Mainly, I can't stand the students in them. They're pretty stupid, and besides, my friends are in the APs, so whatevs. Whether or not I get college credit for these classes, I don't care. Besides, my friend happened to use them to replace an entire year of work. That's a nice plus.
yeah the ap english literature exam should be fun haha.Fun? Shit.
what books/poems/etc. does your teacher have you reading this year?
