GW Olympics - Soldat 2v2 Capture the Flag Event[/size]

Similar to the old school Soldat tournaments that have taken place in the past, we will be taking teams of two of any nationality to compete in a knock out tournament to win the three medals on offer.

Registration:

All you need to do is say something along the lines of "I'm in" and tell us whatever country you're going to be representing.

You have until 11:59 PM GMT on the 27th (Sunday) to signup! The randomization will take place on the 28th.

Tournament Rules:

It'll be in a knockout tournament style. Each match will be best out of 3, with SCTFL style rules (each team gets to pick a map, ctf_Laos is the tiebreaker.)

Any of the default soldat maps can be chosen by a team during a match (except laos), to see a full list of them you can type !show ctf in #gwsoldat.

The hub for all of the matches will be the #gwsoldat IRC channel, contact an admin (anyone with % or above) to set up one of the servers for you.

in order to make things a lot more even and easier to organize, the teams are just going to be randomized instead! the randomization will take place the day after the signups close.

nope, the teams are going to be completely random. it'll make it easier for people to sign up and it'll make things a lot less uneven! you just need to register and wait to be paired up with someone when the teams are announced on the 28th.

The week of the 28th is when it'll start. The matches can be played whenever possible, but within a reasonable amount of time (say, 5 days or so?)

I used to play Soldat a bit but I've never played online - if someone can give me a rundown of how to join matches you make and so on I'd be happy to play. I can only play from October 1st onwards though so if you guys wanna do it before then don't worry.
