SO yeah, Bungie announced at 7:07 Pacific time their new game. Or rather, released a teaser of it!
You can check it out here: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=15574, or on the X-Box Live Marketplace!
Apparently the hardcore Halo fanboys with their intense mastery of the LORE have discerned that this has something to do with Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (since the ODST moto or w/e is at the end!) during the First and Second Battle of Earth between Earth & the Covenant. The game is called Halo 3: Keep it Clean, and it is a campaign expansion pack for Halo 3 that will take place on New Mombasa (the place where the teaser takes place in from the security camera footage), probably detailing the war between the two races.
A picture during the trailer that is SEEMINGLY random letters and numbers, reveals the release date:

Yay?
This looks interesting since it's EARLIER (it's a prequel to even Halo 1!!!), and on Earth for a change.

why is a prequel an add on to halo 3?
-
Keep it Clean? hahahaha

It's a campaign addon.
ie expansion
ie you have to have Halo 3
I do believe! (at least that is what the Halo wiki is hinting at.)
It's just a PREQUEL EXPANSION.
EDIT:
I have to state that Keep it Clean as the official title and it requiring Halo 3 are GUESSTIMATES, but they seem PRETTY CLOSE (well cept being the final title), since Bungie said they wouldn't release another Halo game in the series, but they didn't rule out expansions!

Hey, this is pretty cool. More power to 'em.
-
The game is called Halo 3: Keep it Clean
come again?
-
They said there would be another game involving the Halo universe, it just wouldn't continue the story of Master Chief (this technically isn't continuing it if he's in this). They better bring back the old school turrets they were more fun.

Looks cool. Maybe this will add some kind of substance to the average campaign from Halo 3. Also isn't Peter Jackson doing the new Halo series.. And some other company is doing Halo 4?

i don't own an x-box, or a x-box 360, and the only halo game i have is Halo 1 for the PC that I lost the CD-Key case to.
i've played halo 2 and halo 3 mind you, but i don't like halo because it's overly generic and does nothing at all in moving the genre forward. pretty overrated series entirely. i mean it's solid, but it's not much else.

I think where Halo shines is the multiplayer on the PC. When I was first in halls we had epic battles over the network. I have never really liked the singleplayer level design as it has proved very repetitive as in a lot of the areas look the same or are just repeats of one and other.
Great soundtrack and multiplayer though :D

yes it means to spend money in an ejaculatory way/spend money w/o caring.
which is what will happen day 1 when it comes out.
(tho it's also slang for ejaculation itself too, which prolly makes more sense.)

ummmm ever hear of the future tense? nublet.
everything about the future sucks and so does your future tense
proof:
-robots take over the world in the future
-halo happens in the future
-post modern is beyond the present ie future
-we'll all die eventually in the future
see the future sucks so why would i want to use anything related to it?
pfft...
