Hey pals.
I'm looking for a good offline (splitscreen or something) multiplayer game for the X-Box 360. I currently have Guitar Hero and Street Fighter 3 but I am looking for something more progressive like idk Gears of War or something. Any genre is fine though!
Thanks.

Well GoW is pretty fun when i play it at my friend's house, but i dont know its a bit hard to get into if you dont play it often (or maybe its just me). I suppose Army of 2 might be good, i've never played it.
-
Splitscreen? So you want offline multiplayer? (gg me didnt read topic title <.<)
Imo get castle crushers from live arcade, and bionic command rearmed is also pretty neat and can be played co-op offline.

Ever heard of Earths Defense Force 2017? Well that game is a very glitchy game with mediocore graphics(great look to the chrome enemies though), but it is HELLA fun. You play as a lone soldier(or 2 in co-op), and you take out monsters you would naturally see in any monster b movies like giant ants, robots, spiders, dinosaurs, and even dragons with lazer cannons mounted on their backs that can decimate a quarter of the city! It is crazy and overwhelming(in a good way) due to the MASSIVE amount of enemies that can be on the screen plus some are absolutely HUGE. There is split screen co-op so yea if you like to blast badguys and cause massive amounts of destruction GET THIS SHIT NOW! Where I live, i picked it up for about 15$.

army of two is kind of mediocre. I enjoyed playing through GoW with Krin and Rowain so that is kind of a COOL MULTIPLAYER GAME. Also you can play Halo 3 offline multiplayer.

this game is VERY FUCKING HARD I should warn you.
also Army of Two is fucking horrid. if you feel like a slowpaced game, Rainbow Six is okay.

I believe COD4 has co-op multiplayer.

I believe COD4 has co-op multiplayer.
Can only do the campaign single-player.
I don't know many console games that have great 2P support, but there's a few arcade titles that have good multiplayer: Castle Crashers (as rami reccomended), Alien Hominid, and N+ all feature fully functional co-op.
-
Oh yeah, i forgot about castle crashers. Its really fun to play with friends (gets really hard at the end though.)
-

Vegas and Vegas 2? how are they slowpaced? i only played another one earlier in the series but they seemed to take the gameplay of the originals and turn it into Gears of War with flashbangs.
-
Vegas is awesome for Terrorist Hunt. I haven't touched Vegas 2 much, they changed the controls and shit. It's probably better though. Certainly looks better.
Also, skip on Gears of War, except as a rental. No replay value and the firt playthrough is gay. Might as well stick to Halo 3, far more entertainment. GoW isn't worth the hype.

Gears of War beats the fuck out of Halo 3, but only on coop. I played through the game about three times because it was actually so much fun with a friend. There is no replay value though, he's right about that.
Also I meant slow paced compared to something like Gears, it's not very run and gun.

Gears of War beats the fuck out of Halo 3,
To each their own then.

Burnout Revenge is a great game for 360 and it has two-player head to head. Its fast paced, fairly fun, soundtrack is alright, cool effects if you've not been desensitized to bullet time and next-gen visuals yet.

I completely agree... It's the sort of game which ends up sucking you in and you end up finishing it with your friends at 5am in one whole sitting.

Duke Nukem 3D came out on the XBLA not too long ago and the co-op is pretty cool as it has both split screen and online play so that should make you happy(better get it now before nobody comes on the servers like how Doom and especially Marathon turned out).

heyt drupe, just found this wiki for you, may wanna look at it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cooperative_games_for_the_Xbox_360
it's a bit vague and only really talks about COOPERATIVE IN GENERAL, not just splitscreen/offline, but hey give it a run over
-
That's a sweet list Christo, thanks! Will help for some beer nights with mates.
Rainbow Six Vegas is good fun co-op, I'd give it a rent if you're looking for a blast with friends.
-
Ohh, you should try Fable II's splitscreen coop, it could be good. I haven't tried it myself yet though.
