My dear friends, im having a huge problem, as you know i moved from mexico to norway and i got here a little fujitsu laptop with windows xp for working, im doing some design and media with flash, and today i just turned it off and when i tryed to start it again, it just dont go after the windows xp screen, it crashes with a blue window. ive tryed to start in safe mode and it happens the same. do you know or have an ideas of what can i do, i need the info inside the harddrive, mostly the one in my desktop but i dont know if i can resinstall windows again and be able to keep those files in my desktop. can someone please help me?

if you have the windows xp cd put that in and hit repair my computer, that might work. If not i THINK norton ghost can access your harddrive and get for info with its recovery cd, even if windows wont start. Don't quote me on that though, try with the XP cd.
If not you might lose your data. back it up dude.

Boot from your XP CD, go to the recovery console and type 'chkdsk'. Restart the computer and load Windows as normal. That might fix the problem as I've been able to fix BSoDs that way before.

You can reinstall windows XP, and all your data will still be there as long as you choose not to format. All your old desktop files will be in "C:\documents and settings\(old user name)\desktop". Just move them to your new desktop folder "C:\documents and settings\(new user name)\desktop" or wherever else you wish to place them.

i dont think i am... im actually looking for new computars im so so so pisst
! but thanks for your helpo

If your system is still under warranty, it would be a good idea to turn it in for repairs. It may even be cheaper to bring it to a repair shop even if your system is not under warranty, compared to buying a new laptop.
