Title: Grudge Movies
Post by: Parker on October 27, 2008, 03:35:20 am: I am a huge fan of The Grudge. (Not Ju-on, or double jew (ju-on 2)) I'm also a huge fan of the Ring, One Missed Call, Darkness Falls, The Eye (japanese one), Pulse, Shutter, and others. I find these movies incredibly, incredibly entertaining. And I require more of them.

Do you know of any other Grudge movies? Japanese Horror movies where cell phones and video tapes kill you? Please guide me to more of these awesome movies. (also the grudge 2, though seemingly marketed ONLY for me, sucked huge donkey boners) I will also accept movies like When A Stranger Calls.

Also my knowledge of American remakes of goofy Japanese horror movies is very limited, sorry.

It's not a joke topic, and I am completely aware they are awful movies. That's kind of the point. I have such a great time watching these movies. I'm not looking for movies like The Descent, which was actually pretty decent. I want movies like the grudge. Movies that actually had a budget and completely sucked balls. I don't want low-budget "PLAN 9 FROM OUTER HEEELLLL" horror movies or whatever.

1. Apparently that sound you can make in the back of your throat is scary.
2. Don't trust pale Asian kids.
3. How bad some movies really are.. And Sarah Michelle Geller is still pretty hot.

The Ring 2 actually made me fall asleep and the original had a New Zealand guy in it.. Plus it wasn't that bad. The Descent is that movie with that group of woman who go underground and get stuck an shit right?

what are some good movies with her in it btw? out of all the ones she's been in I've seen mulholland drive, I heart huckabees, king kong, tank girl, maybe more

Darkness Falls was good for about the first ten minutes, then it quickly became a boring, forgettable, run-of-the-mill horror movie (as with Dead Silence).

I liked The Grudge when I first saw it in the theater because the audience there was hilarious. When I saw it at home, however...it wasn't really anything special. The Grudge 2 was beyond horrible, and I can't remember anything about The Ring 2 at all, aside from a bathroom scene with lots of water flying around.

horror movies are such a great genre

also Ring 2 is confusing because it was directed by the guy who did Ringu right but it wasn't a sequel to Ringu it was a sequel to Ring and wasn't the sequel to Ringu completely different?
