Title: [halp] eMac G4 CD-Rom drive reads DVDs but not normal CDs

I have an eMac G4, and it's having a really weird problem. My eMac will read DVDs of all types, such as movies and install cds, but it fails to read normal cds and burned cds. I am wondering if this is a common error, and if there are any solutions to this?

this happened to my old powerbook, it's most likely the drive going bad. They're pretty inexpensive though.

My Lenovo IdeaPad has this problem right now. Apparently many drives use a separate laser for DVDs and CDs, an the CD laser has gone bad. Mine did this following a cancelled burn (...).
