Title: speakers gone mono (uh-Oh)
Post by: rapstar on December 01, 2008, 01:35:55 pm
it just happened yesterday. i was listening to some tunes then for some reason a certain part of this song was missing. i went up to both speakers and noticed that the left's sound is nowhere to be heard. both speakers are blasting out sound from the right. so right now, it's basically mono.

anyone experienced this before? any way to fix it? i'm pretty sure this happened before, but i can't remember what i did.

can anyone help me? i have no idea whatsoever. :welp:

Maybe try re-wiring the speakers, or the one that has no sound coming out, if you have surround sound, or whatever.

You could try this:

-Go to Control Panel.
-Click on "Sounds and Audio Devices".
-At the bottom, under "Speaker settings", click on "Speaker Volume" and you should see two slide indicators for each speaker.
-Check and see if perhaps the left speaker is set all the way to the left(no sound) and adjust accordingly.

Hopefully that might fix it.

Check the plug, and that it's inserted all the way. That could cause only one channel to play through both speakers. And if that doesn't work, try a different pair of speakers, or use a different source of input to find out if it's the speakers or the pc.
