Quite frankly, I cannot make a sensible comment about this.

Another MMO. Ok. What's Dungeon Keeper?

What's Dungeon Keeper?
Sim City meets dungeon crawling.
It's a strategy game where you have to manage a bunch of resources and build rooms for everyone so your population can grow so you can murder heroes. It's a pretty fun game.
But an MMO?...
It'd be really cool if they you know, just made another dungeon keeper game.
But alas, bullfrog has faded into obscurity. Possibly nothing.

Jesus how can you not have played Dungeon Keeper...it's one of the greatest games ever made. Go out and buy it right now, you can get 1+exp+2 for like $10.

I believe they're EA UK and now currently make the greatest games... THE HARRY POTTER ONES! BOOYA.

On a seperate note, this MMO better be some form of crazy MMO-strategy game, rather than WoW with a Dungeon Keeper mod.

I picked up Dungeon Keeper (2??) out of a sale bin at Zellers like 5 years ago (complete made up timespan) and it is a really fun game! This could be interesting from a design perspective because I'd like to see how they turn it into MMO

Maybe like Little Big Planet in a role-playing format?  You can design and upkeep dungeons or sign on as a character to explore them.  This would seem to be the most plausible explanation.

But that's not really what dungeon keeper was about. No idea though!

So some chinese company buys the rights to a (cult) classic title and wants to make it into an mmo?

This won't end well.

I just really can't see how this would work. Sure you could 'explore others dungeons', but the more I think about it the more I KNOW how it will work. Each creature will be a playable class. 'Dungeons' will be hubs/raids for creatures and heroes respectively, and vice versa for the hero lair. There's no way they can put the gameplay of DK into an mmo...it's just gonna be an mmo in the DK universe (aka CREATURES VS HUMANS) :(

No, it won't. Dungeon Keeper fucking ROOLED but I don't see why it's a CHINESE developer doing a MMO for it. It's not like you even need the Dungeon keeper license to make a good DK style MMO. It's not like the world in DK was particularly compelling (it was pretty funny but you could rip it off without it even being that obvious). The idea of building dungeons in a persistant world and invading other dungeons could be really fun but it's difficult to imagine it really working that well either, at least not with a large playerbase. Most of the fun of DK is from designing and altering your dungeon and the world around you, and very few MMOs tackle dynamic land deformation/alteration, at least not major commercial MMOs.

I love Dungeon Keeper and all, in fact it's one of my favourite games of all time, but yeah I don't see myself all that fascinated with the whole concept as an MMO... we'll see I guess.

I didn't know that China even made video games.

Perhaps one day China will be to video games what Taiwan is to useless trinkets and scissors.

I was always hoping they'd make another dungeon keeper, but not like that... I can't even picture how a DK MMO might be good enough that they'd buy rights for it

The narrator was by far my favorite voice in any video game

You should try playing the Thief series and The Longest Journey then. Garrett in Thief has one of the best voices ever, but The Longest Journey is consistently brilliant with every single character in the game, no exceptions.
