ryan are you lookin for any world or psychedelic music? I've got shitloads and chef can hook you up with some crazy stuff
I see what you did ther- *fartslol two completely different posting styles look how dumb you are
btw someone mentioned some sideproject of alcest's and i dont know it or even if ryan would like it but i like alcest. one of the few good metal groups i listen to!Well Alcest is already a side project. Neige is mostly in Peste Noire (which is his worst band imo). His other band is Amesoeurs.
I don't expect anyone to download the last one. Maybe one or two of you. It's straight up black metal involving a couple of people from the bands above. Raw and filthy, but technically adept and with a certain element of beauty and emotion. In the words of the band's leader, Valfunde, "searching for a divine ray of light in a cesspool, under feces and refuse, such is Peste Noire's musical mission." A struggle to find illumination "between scatology and eschatology." It's a fucking masterpiece, in my opinion. One of my favorite records.what a fucking quote!!! i haven't listened to it yet though.
swans.
everyone get swans.
it does not matter what you like.

Man I love this alcest stuff, atmospheric/shoegaze metal influenced music is my fave. Anyone have any other similar bands?

black metals probably just as bad a genre as hipster indie ^_^not at all
black metals probably just as bad a genre as hipster indie ^_^hipster indie would probably be worse if it weren't for the fact that it gets college kids laid a lot. *burns a mix for the cute girl with bangs and square black plastic framed glasses*

The Eels
The Coral, Zutons
The Eels are more weird-pop kind of music. Posted some songs since they like to
change styles here and there (but you kinda hear it's them thanks to their choice of
chords) The third song was hard to find so there are people shooting in the video lol:
Also, here are some "less known" stuff I enjoy listening to that I don't have any idea if you'll like or hate:
Duke Special (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPKEIZ7wm2o), Anna Ternheim (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=-R1S0InTnWo), UFO (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ1KW1Za3ss), The Zutons (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=kga8o6l2R-4), The Coral (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=KRy8N1P1EUI), Jesus Christ Superstar Album (old version) (http://se.youtube.com/watch?v=H3vtAjHvhHA)

[REQ] things like Coheed and Cambria. I just started listening to them and I like it.if your eally want this, find yourself atorrent or rapidshare of the shabutie eps, penelope and plan to take of the world. it's pretty close to the stuff they did on second stage turbine blade, which is the only coheed album i can listen to anymore.
Daft punk, The Crystal Method, and Massive Attack are pretty awesomeI second Massive Attack.
daft punk's live album is the best imo. Massive attack did the theme for house and thats a badass song.

you should have access to that forum anyways I'm p sure.Yeah, i do... but effort and that, could someone just summarise it to the best from there for mine and flowerpower's sake?
nah its okay the reason I didn't want to move it is all the whitenoise raging about hiphop. I'll sum it up once I eat breakfast and add a few things and also yell at you both,

who the fuck is jeru the damaja i aint ever even heard of this dude. how does this keep happening to me!!! RAP CANON!!!! SLOW YA ROLL.really!?!?
really!?!?
i have never listened to it but the sun rises in the east is famous
i'm sureit's been mentioned on a HIP HOP BLOG or something or other
The only thing is some of his stuff is barely listenable because its just him rambling!
I got some lists right here....this is a good list. i like k-os but i wasn't sure if anyone else did at all. i brought them up to steel and he didn't seem to give a shit, and i put some on my mixtape and no one mentioned them. to be fair i don't think anyone actually listened to that so maybe that's why.

never thought I'd see kid606 on gw. his latest mix was bad but the dude owns. didn't he do THE ACTIONPACKED MENTALIST etc? that was tight.
lol try listening to Autechre
it's like a robot farting into your ears
holy shit I seriously think this song is a parody of that Autechre song
nope it's on their Draft 7.30 album
no autechre makes song and then aphex twin makes fun of itoh nvm I didn't click the link you posted, I thought you were saying that the one I posted was a parody
I don't think you understand
like it's basically the electronica equivalent of when rappers diss each other (is it still called that or is that like from the 1980s oh god)
I think the idea of the song is Autechre doesn't get laid but I can't prove this yet
Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaristice.Quadrange.ep.ae artwork by designers republic
Edit: I don't really know if it's really poking fun at AE but like random people on the internet have proven Aphex Twin posts as such and such on the internet giving inflated reviews to his stuff and making fun of other IDM guys
IDM is the most pretentious genre ever
i don't even know what IDM is anymore. is it shit like venetian snares (which are only ever good when you're high/tripping) or what? everytime i go to blogs i see shit listed as "IDM" even if its nothing like venetian snares/the flashbulb or whatever. is jon hopkins, the london apartments (kind of obscure, but check them out), !!!, the rapture IDM?? Is it just GKBHDSGJKFHDBFGELECTRONIC NOISE or is it dance music with "intelligent" lyrics or?
I can see the knife and possibly even royksopp being IDM, but how in the world are bjork and radiohead anything even close to dance?
im listening to curtis mayfield at the momentoh my got curtis mayfield is awesome
superfly
you guys are so fucking modern and trendy where's the talk about stravinsky and thcaikovsky?
Fucking hipseter posers.
