what flashcart did you order?
also there is a lot of good stuff for flashcarts that you can use with your DS on gabtemp.net.
DSOrganize is the only homebrew app that I can think of off the top of my head.  It has a web  browser that you can use (although it seems to not work for some people)

The genesis emulator is pretty good, considering the SNES one is pretty much shit at the moment.

AmplituDS is good, Moonshell is pretty much a must if you want to fuck around with media, and LoneWolfDS is a pretty solid videogame adaptation of some classic RP books. Oh and POWDER is a decent, accessible roguelike specifically designed for handhelds.

I prefer CycloDS Evolution myself but R4s are good bang for the buck. Just don't be retarded and break it and you'll be fine (the manufacturer is out of business).

For homebrew games try:
Virus DS
MegaETk
Warcraft Tower Defense
OMalone
Setsuzoku no Puzzle
Meteora
Video Game Hero
Tetris The Grand Master 3: Terror Instinct
Anguna: Warriors of Virtue
Game Melody Oratorio / Game Melody Oratorio Volume 2
StillAliveDS
Word Up
Word Find DS
Crocodingus
Super Smash Bros. Rumble (not finished yet, but the demos I've tried show some potential)

Bitsweeper is pretty fun. Pretty straightforward minesweeper clone.

R4 Ultras have been reported to have problems, as they are obviously fake (As in not from the company that made the original R4), but I know people who have one and haven't had any problems.

Either way the only homebrew that I felt was worth my time was Colors.
It's like a water painting application of sorts. You can even press harder or lighter to make the colors darker or lighter.

Its not actually in yet, but its in shipping, and they says it should take about 7 days more. Which brings it to around 12. I live in Australia.

I use a SuperCard DS1 and a SuperCard Lite. I love them. LOVE. I have all my music and stuff on them and I have it set so I can access my computer from anywhere with internet.

Win2DS is awesome. The framerate is terrible so stuff like WoW is basically out of the question, but it works wonders for a lot of stuff.

The ones off DealExtreme ARE counterfeit but the nice thing is is that they support SDHC unlike the authentic ones  :fogetnaughty:

Oh, and the price is right.

Also i think they removed the spring in the SD slot, meaning it will last a lot longer.
