Has anyone ever heard of "The most unwanted song ever?", its a 25 minute composition two Russian guys made after doing a survey to see what sounds and types of music people find the most annoying. There is also a version which is done in the opposite and made up of the most popular pleasant sounds.

Here's the song if you want to listen to it:

It features a bagpipe solo, a mix between country and rap with a Opera singer doing vocals.

oh cool you found the song. yeah I actually livejournaled about this when I heard it on This American Life or TED. the most appealing is some cheesy r&b song.
-
before those damn kids started singing, i actually found this quite enjoyable!
-
yeah I dunno, I think they could have been more creative with it. the opera rap is pretty good, but what's up with the beginning? I think the stuff my neighbors listen to is at least as annoying as this. actually I think I will place a microphone just inside my doorway and record for 24 hours or a week and cut out the hours of silence.
-
actually
why isnt there an urban opera with rapping and cadillacs and shit
-
hahah the rap opera is surprisingly not bad. but the kids, arghhh :(
-
if you guys seriously think the rap opera was good you have absolutely shit taste.
I'm not even kidding I had to skip ahead in the podcast when I heard it. it's that same jokerap shit that's permeated internet nerds for some time now. it was easily the most annoying part of the song.
if you really like this go download Captain Dan and MC Chris and never post in any hiphop thread ever.
-
the rap opera at the beginning was pretty bad but the opera + accordion created a cool atmosphere
-
it's good as in it's the only part that I thought was really annoying. the rest isn't that great.
-
i figured as much but flowerpower liked it and wc thought it should be a whole thing apparently.
irony rap is so bad i cringed so fucking hard.
-
i didn't like it but it's not UNBEARABLE or anything.
-
actually

i think you've potentially found a place in the market, time to make some moooney
-
BTW this is the most 'WANTED' song ever:
made up of positive things people most want to hear:

Ha! This song isn't so bad. Rone Rivendale's music is much worse.
-
Jeeze, almost fell off the chair when the "Yom Kippur" chant started... and the opera rapping reminds me of Green Jelly.
-
I think the Most Wanted song is a lot funnier
and I think that's the exact point that the most unwanted song is actually enjoyable while the most wanted song is kind of nauseating
also this has been posted before I think (good chance this place is where I heard of it the first time)
-
The most wanted song is kinda pleasant in a really bland way, it's just a typical R&B singer with some lounge music playing.
-
i think you've potentially found a place in the market, time to make some moooney
I mean shit why not seriously
obviously the rap in this song is terrible but that would be so amazing if they like made a rap opera that wasn't ironic or anything you know it actually had real music that people would listen to in it. shit I would watch an urban opera
-
ramadan shopping at walmart?
HELLZ YEA!!!
did that opera bitch say something about philosophy? i couldn't make it out. hopefully the first serious opera rapper will rap more distinguishably.
-
man are you kidding.
do you really not know.
addressing WC but REALLY? aren't you just talking about...a rap concept album? of which there are plenty? or do you really want one with sets in which case why, that would be cheesy shit. even something like gutterfly would probably suck as theater.
-
It sounded as if half the song wasn't even played seriously. But for some reason the whole thing reminded me of Earthworm Jim so I got some surreal nostalgia out of it. And I genuinely enjoyed it so I geuss I have some pretty obscure tastes. :welp:
And I didn't like the other song though. But then again I don't like those OOOOooOOOoOOOoooos in my music.
But still the bagpipes, organ, and a violin with rap (not joke rap or anything) I would like to hear.

no I mean in a theatre
and obviously it would suck I think it would just be hilarious to hear andrew lloyd webber does hip hop
-
nah it'd be dumbb.
I head this a while ago(Inri made a topic last year about it) and it's an allright novelty. It doesn't seem genuinely annoying to me but just there. I think I've heard more annoying stuff.
-
that opera rap was... :shocking:
I'd buy a whole rap CD like that.
-
I think the point isn't to be so unbearable that nobody will listen to it.
Just that it's the most annoying song ever, because it's got something in it to annoy just about everybody.
-
I only skipped through it but it didn't sound all that bad to me :\
-
This song is brutal, the audio equivalent of The Ring video.
-
actually

Don't worry dudes I've never seen this because it looks like the worst thing ever made, I just remember seeing the title on Netflix before. Wash Cycle, watch it and tell us if it lives up to your dreams.
-
that just looks like a hip-hop musical. hip-hop musical, urban opera, same thing?? i don't know. i don't know.
-
Carmen's an opera (this movie might not be but it says HIP HOP VERSION OF CARMEN so I would hope that it's an opera), and I would think hip hop and urban both count.
-
The opera rap made me laugh SO hard.
I want more opera rap just because it is so ridiculous.
-
I linked it to a few people and I laughed my ass off while listening to it. My mom came inside the room with a really :fogetwtf: face.
