Title: Computer I'm buying, is it a good setup?

What I'm wondering is, is this a good setup? I don't want to exactly be able to play HARDCORE games, but I'd like to play some new games.

Also, I'm still picking a PSU; the current one is kind of temporary. I need a PSU that can support 2 IDE optical drives and 2 IDE hard drives. I don't know what these cables are called, but they have 4 pins on them from the power supply. I would also like it if it supported powering 2 (1 mandatory) SATA drives. Does anyone have any suggestions on these.

Post by: Frisky SKeleton on March 11, 2009, 10:22:25 pm: they're called molex connectors, and you should have plenty and that psu should be able to power the 4 ide drives, but it's kinda moot as your motherboard only has 1 IDE port.

also note that it's a real pain to get to in most cases.
aside from that you should be able to play some nifty games with that rig

Oh, I didn't notice that that uses molex connections too. So that makes 6 molex connectors. Does this power supply support that? When I check on the picture on NewEgg, I don't see 6 molex connectors.

I want to be able to order everything at once. I don't want to have to go back and buy more stuff and have all of these parts just sitting around without being able to use them.

Post by: something bizarre and impractical on March 12, 2009, 10:20:53 am: rule of thumb if it isn't OEM and comes with a fan then it comes with thermal paste. If not any local store would have it for fairly cheap although I'd stick with Arctic Silver or OCZ brands.

I don't need this to be too powerful. It's probably already overkill for my needs. I really don't game that much. I plan on using this for casual use and maybe some video encoding.
