Title: The Wire
Post by: jamie on April 25, 2009, 02:38:30 am: Let's watch The Wire. Let's do it. It is a really good TV show about crime, the law and the corruption of both in the modern American city. Let's do it. Here is the intro from the first episode:

That's just a little video, it isn't any use to show you what the whole show is like.

So we'll start this and watch a couple each week but let's see who is gonna watch it first.

Post by: jamie on April 25, 2009, 02:58:07 am: Yeah we'll start at the start. let's wait a day or two until we see who is gonna respond then we'll start a day or two after that and on the same day each week till the end of the first season so that's 12 weeks i think of 1 hour a week for a great show, and we'll all come here to post about the ep at some point during the week. It should be alot of fun.

It is a pretty good show once you start getting used to the characters and the dialogue ( I remember hearing a lot of remarks about needing a translator for the show because of all the "authentic" dialogue, it's mostly just some slang I've never heard before).

Idris Elba is in this too!

In fact, one of the guys from the show was interviewed on NPR, and it sounded like a very decent show. And I believe everything NPR tells me.

no but seriously, unless you're some country club white guy who's never seen a black person who wasn't on TV i don't see how anyone would have trouble understanding the dialogue
