Title: Animated Comicbook Superhero movies
Post by: Farren on May 02, 2009, 05:44:43 am
I watched The Hulk VS the other day and it was pretty sweet:

It was pretty fun to watch, I also watched the batman animated movie that came out recently and thought it was good too. Can someone give me some more animated comic movies like this to watch? I thought I saw a trailer for an iron-man one but I don't know much about it.

I think Hulk VS is supposed to be exceptionally good, while the rest of Marvel's movies are kinda bad. I have the two Ultimate Avengers movies and the first is decent but the second one is tough to stay awake through.
I know Iron Man and Dr. Strange both bombed too.

Isn't the batman movie you're talking about supposed to be like the animatrix thing?

Yo, check out Batman Beyond. The Batman Beyond movie with the Joker is incredible, highly recommend.

I also heard Wonder Woman is good, but I dunno since I disliked Superman Doomsday. Stay away from Ultimate Avengers 1 + 2, Iron Man, and Dr Strangeluv. They're awful.

Yeah the Batman movie I'm talking about is kind of like animatrix in that they let diff directors direct each one. I thought it was pretty good though, there was a topic about it awhile back or something like that.

I'll check out batman beyond and maybe wonder woman thanks

Batman : Gotham Knight
I watched it recently. It's a tie in series of short stories that explain the time between Batman Begins and Dark Knight. And some of before Batman Begins.
It's incredible. I especially love the first story that talks about Batman chasing some badguy through the city through the various eyes of like four kids. Each story coincides with another perspective, eventually building the episode plot. Pretty awesome. Plays off the image that different people perceive Batman as.

This one didn't really click for me. It seemed pretty cliche to me, I felt like I saw it many times before. Of course, there is that one Batman: TAS episode where all the kids are tripping over "I saw Batman blah blah Frank Miller recreation" that was pretty much exactly the same.

Personally, I really loved the story that Brian Azarello wrote, most of them seemed pretty sub par to me.

Kevin Conroy as kawaii Bruce Wayne ^______^;;

Anything Bruce Timm has done with the Batman franchise automatically gets an A-OK in my books. I really liked Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Beyond, haven't seen Sub-Zero with Mister Freeze but the way that Freeze was presented as a character in the animated series was really well done, so I would anticipate that it would be worth buying to watch.
