@Anaryu: That is awesome, are those sprites custom? is it being made in game maker?

The sprites are 'kinda' custom. :)

They're actually Jump Ultimate Stars sprites that were used as templates and re-done. The sword-guy (Kane) is Hitsugaya Toshiro and the girl with the gun (Millie) is Nico Robin. And yeah, GameMaker 7.

4 different players are shooting at each other, and sometimes one zooms to the center to use a special attack (not sure on mechanics for that yet.)

Also, it is looking even more awesome than I imagined. Are you using 3D for some of those attack effects now? The BG really gives it a 3D feel!

wow, lost universe, I loved that series when they passed it here, remembered me so much of the slayers.
It looks great, the movement is fluid and the character art is very nice. What program are you making this in?

It's all being done in good old, dull, GameMaker. :)

And congrats! You're the FIRST person to know Lost Universe. It got the nickname "Slayers in space" since it had the same makers and a very similar feel to it.

Yay! Nessiah told me how to put it in tags. :)

For the current fan-game contest; so far only my wife and I know what the fandom (Lost Universe) is though.

The sprites are edits of Jump Ultimate Stars sprites, the one there for Kane Blueriver was originally Hitsuguya Toshiro (the boy captain with the ice-sword from Bleach).

I lost. One of my vote is from Anaryu himself and I didn't vote for anyone :)  So in case Nackster doesn't have a way to settle this in his mind already, I'd be happy to take the second place.

In my opinion, the scifi theme does not need to be applied through story only. If someone were to make a game that is not story heavy, then the theme have to be applied somewhere else, like graphic or the atmosphere. Or else this would mean we are forced to make a story heavy game.

Not to be against those comment who said my game isn't scifi though. It's open vote and thus they are entitle to their opinions. The aim of dotPlus is just like what Calunio said, to create a simple addictive and fun casual game, which is something I've been wanted to do for a long time. I also think that it'll be a good challenge for me as well since in the game it'll have to be pure gameplay that hook the player to keep on playing.  Seeing many people replied my topics with all their scores and levels already made me happy enough :D

You can't just invalidate my vote because you didn't make one. :)

I voted after trying all the entries and posted feedback for each as well, so my vote is just as good as anyone elses, no copping out. :D I'm more surprised I caught up than anyone though, makes me feel that I really should rework the tutorial and first few levels and add in some more.

Considering how things started off I wonder where everyone would have ended up if Muse had remained in the polls.

Everyone loves RPG Maker games, cuz they're simple, beautiful. GM experiments like Gravity are buggy and weird for me. Terraformer just ugly.
Carius's Space Fish is cool, as always.
Terra Nova is super stylish, but it seems pretty unfinished and dull, you can avoid all enemies on your path. It doesn't have any simple script enemy traps.
Muse the best, I think.

I'm totally up for rough feedback (confusing, too much in the tutorial, "weird", too complex, too easy, too short, sucky graphics, bad premise) and all that, but so far I have had zero bug reports, so if you HAVE found it buggy please let me know what they are so I know how to fix it for future projects.
