Avatar Trailer!

Director - James Cameron(Terminator, Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Aliens, Titanic, Dark Angel)

Release Date - 18th December 2009

Cast:
Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Lang, Laz Alonso.

Quote from: Wikipedia
The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race that humans consider primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall, with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Na’vi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.

Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human "driver" through a technology that links the driver's mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is only matched by her ferocity in battle.

Over time, Jake integrates himself into Neytiri's clan, and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Resident Evil 5, known in Japan as Biohazard 5, is the forthcoming installment in the Resident Evil survival horror video game series, which is set to debut for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will be developed and published by Capcom.

Release Date:
North America: March 10, 2009
Europe: March 13, 2009
Japan: March 5, 2009

Resident Evil 5's setting will have a similar feel to the film Black Hawk Down. Takeuchi added that the development team is composed of staff members who worked on the first Resident Evil.He has stated that Resident Evil 5 will be an actual sequel to the Resident Evil series. Before Takeuchi took over, the game's former producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi stated "it's safe to say that Resident Evil 5 will naturally proceed from where Resident Evil 4 left off".

In a July 2007 Famitsu interview, producer Jun Takeuchi revealed the main playable character as Chris Redfield and the game takes place roughly ten years after the events of the original Resident Evil. The story will explore Chris' life during the ten year interval between the two games. During the game's events, he is a member of a group known as Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), and sent to investigate an incident in a desert area that serves as the game's setting. Takeuchi also confirmed that a female character from the series, who is seen briefly at the end of the trailer, will appear in the game. In an online interview, Takeuchi revealed that the game's plot will be set in Africa, and will concern "the origins of the virus". He also stated one of the plot's key elements will revolve around the whereabouts of STARS and Redfield's life after the first Resident Evil game. UK-based publication Xbox World 360 revealed that the game takes place in an area named Kijuju. They also confirmed the return of recurring antagonist Albert Wesker, as well as Sherry Birkin.Another game trailer that was released on May 31, 2008 depicted a female character named Sheva Alomar who is an agent of the West African branch of the BSAA, who will assist Redfield.

Alomar will follow Redfield, while supplying him with ammo and support. She will also be able to engage enemies, and will require the player's assistance from time to time.

Information from IGN.com has revealed the lady in white from the trailers to be Excella Gionne. According to IGN, she is a family member of the founder of the Tricell Pharmaceutical Company and she runs the company's African branch.

My thoughts so far:

I bought my copy this morning. Resident Evil 5 is f*cken awesome plain & simple. Only playing it on normal right now but this game is delivering for me right now.

Voice acting & facial animation is amazing along with the lighting, textures, this games graphics are up their with Gears of War, Killzone, etc. The level design is very well done and the pacing is excellent. Not that far in yet but the story so far has done it's job.

Taking a break from it for now but can't wait to get back to it.

Theatrical Trailer.
Imdb Link.

Quote from: Plot Summary(Imdb)
'Quantum of Solace' continues the high octane adventures of James Bond from 'Casino Royale'. Picking up literally hours after the previous film left off, after being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Having captured Mr. White, and in pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and 'M' interrogate Mr. White who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper to steal Bond's casino winnings is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless businessman and major force within the mysterious criminal organization known only as 'Quantum'.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano. Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in Bolivia, giving General Medrano control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land which is, however, a main source of the South American water supply. In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists, and even 'M' herself, to unravel Greene's sinister plan and stop Quantum from getting its way.

Anyone seen this yet or planning on seeing this? I thought Casino Royale was an amazing movie, definitely gave the series a better look and feel in my opinion. Plus it wasn't just some middle aged guy running around with perfect accuracy and screwing every bitch in sight.

Set 500 years after the original game, Fable 2 offers even more choices and features, while building on the core gameplay theme of Fable where every choice continually defines who you become, allowing you to truly live the life you choose. Fable II expands upon the scope and depth of the original by adding incredible new features and creating a wider, more complex kingdom of limitless choices and consequences. Players will have the option to play as a man or woman, get married, have children, and live a life of their own design -- all leading to different destinies.

Genre: Action RPG

Release Date: October 21st 2008

General Features:

  • A land far, far away. Gamers will revisit the newly expanded world of Albion more than 500 years after the events of the original “Fable,” where they are free to explore the landscape and openly roam the countryside. For the right price, every house, hut, dungeon and castle is for sale. Players can witness how the world grows and changes in response to their decisions in incredible and unique ways as they rediscover Albion as if for the first time.
  • Fight with ease. “Fable II” pioneers a new combat system designed to allow players to truly master hand weapons such as swords and maces, ranged combat weapons such as crossbows and guns, and an entirely new magic system. These three disciplines, while very accessible, are also amazingly deep, and allow players to mix combat styles and become everything from master swordsman to skilled ranger to evil magic wielder, each using a different single button on the Xbox 360 Controller.

Orbs allow for seamless LIVE co-op play and interaction with other “Fable II” players.

(I know, sounds like some fucking advertisement but I just copied this shit from IGN)

My Thoughts so far:

Well I got my collectors edition today and took the day off from course. IT'S PRETTY GOOD GUYS, seriously I got a huge headache but it's been worth it. Amazing graphics, just bought my first house and found a chest inside so I opened it but got caught by the guards and now I'm doing community service to pay off my debt.

You have unlimited Mana and the guns fit really well in with the games combat. Also it's combat is much better then the first game because switching between melee, magic and long range styles is always fun. You don't do up your health and strength like the original and it's a lot harder to get gold then the first. I got a job as a blacksmith at the start which helped me get on my feet, but the mini game that goes with the social interactivity and job is kinda boring after awhile as their all the same.

The Dog is amazingly done and it's fun praising him and playing fetch. You have to unlock all the extra tricks he learns and I have only gotten one so far. The overall atmosphere, music, sound, the way the sun/moon light cascades through trees is just put together so well you can't picture the game without it.

The best thing in terms of progression so far is just on the way to your destination you just get side tracked ad wander off finding heaps of little things and it's sometimes hard to not just wander off your objective as the world is just begging you to explore it.

On a side note Lionhead have really out done themselves on making you feel like a poor bastard at the early stages of the game.

Namco Bandai kicks off Tokyo Game Show with confirmation that long-awaited PS3 fighter will launch on rival console simultaneously in fall 2009.

Quote
The current generation of consoles has seen a number of longtime exclusive third-party games migrate to multiplatform releases. The Devil May Cry franchise was a Sony exclusive brand until the fourth installment debuted on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII has also shed its exclusivity and will be appearing (in the West at least) simultaneously on Microsoft's and Sony's platforms.

Now, one more once-stalwart Sony exclusive has gone multiplatform, as Namco Bandai today opened up the 2008 Tokyo Game Show by revealing its arcade fighter Tekken 6 would be launching worldwide for the Xbox 360 in fall 2009, simultaneously with the previously announced PS3 edition. The Xbox 360 version of the game will mark the Tekken series' first installment on a non-Sony system since the 2002 Game Boy Advance experiment Tekken Advance.

Tekken project director Katsuhiro Harada--in an exclusive interview with GameSpot--said taking the Tekken series to more platforms would allow even more fans to enjoy the franchise.

"Timing was an important factor in this decision. As you have the 360 and the PS3--both relatively high-powered platforms--out at the same time frames. Both of them have high 3D specifications. And since Tekken is most famous for its graphics and visual design as a 3D fighter, we felt the high specs of these machines lend themselves very well to having the game on both consoles," he said.

Harada admits there will be challenges in taking Tekken 6 to the 360, given that the original arcade version was built on a PS3-based architecture. "When we tried to move it to the 360, it would be a lie to say I wasn't concerned. It is quite difficult. For example, on the PS3 you have the Blu-ray disc as well as the hard disk, which lends itself to a lot of options for the game. We don't necessarily have this for the 360, where it has a DVD and it may not have a hard disk by default. So there are various things that we have to overcome when porting this to the 360, but I'm sure we can do it," he said.

Tekken 6 will include a number of new characters which Namco Bandai said will result in the largest roster the series has seen to date. The game also expands on the way character customizability has been used in previous Tekken titles, with special items affecting gameplay and allowing new moves to be performed. The console versions of the arcade brawler will also feature online play.

This is just the latest example of Namco Bandai opening up its premiere franchises to multiplatform development. Xbox 360 launch title Ridge Racer 6 marked that series' first non-Sony console appearance since 2000's Ridge Racer 64, while Ace Combat had only flown the Sony skies on consoles before Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation launched on the 360 last year. The Namco Bandai multiplatform flow goes the other way as well; last year's Xbox 360 role-playing game Eternal Sonata debuts on the PS3 later this month.

TEKKEN 6 BABY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Johnny Depp to star in more Disney projects, including "Pirates 4"

No more Pirates please.. it's been done. The 2nd and 3rd films were really poor. I thought Depp had a bit more integrity than this. Move on!

What games would you recommend a second play through? Maybe not just a for it's secrets but a game you just got drawn into so much that you just ended up playing through it again. Explain why as well if you want.

Final Fantasy VII/IX - These are by far the best ones in the series for me. IX had such an awesome atmosphere and general feel to it that I could like NOT play through it again. Final Fantasy VII is my favorite game and I have played through it almost 10 times now, because to me it's just a great game to play and even now don't get bored to go through it again.

Chrono Trigger - Theres just something about this game that just draws you in. I don't know It's just a great game, overrated but still even today.. A game I can play again.

Halo Combat Evolved - Probably the most hyped games in history. There was just something about the original that really was fun and engaging that was kinda lost in it's sequels.. Halo 3 was alright though. Plus those big expansive maps were awesome to play through on Co-op.

Half Life 2/Portal - Best fucken FPS ever made so far. Can't fucken wait for the next one. The Cake is a lie GODDAMMIT!! :shh: Plus those talking machine guns are awesome.

Crackdown - This is pretty much Grand Theft Auto with super powers.. Too much fun. Story isn't the greatest but gameplay is too good that it doesn't even matter. Should check out Infamous if you liked this game as well. PS3 exclusive which is sad cause I only have an Elite.

Grand Theft Auto IV - One of or maybe even the best game Ive ever played. Everything in this game screams fucken awesome. The AI, Physics, Characters. Niko is the fucken man and the game just doesn't get boring.

Click and be amazed!

The above link will take you to a place of unbelievable idiocy it is just.. I implore you to read the FAQ they have written up. Also not everyone at the site believes this shit. :tsk:

Some highlights to the most stupidest shit Ive ever read.

Quote
Q: "Why do the all the world Governments say the Earth is round?"

A: A Conspiracy among world Governments claiming to have space programs has disseminated the lie to the other governments of the world, as well as to the media and the general public.

Q: "What about NASA? Don't they have photos to prove that the Earth is round?"

A: NASA is part of the conspiracy too. The photos are faked.

Q: "Why has no-one taken a photo of the Earth that proves it is flat?"

A: The government prevents people from getting close enough to the Ice Wall to take a picture.

Q: "How did NASA create these images with the computer technology available at the time?"

A: Since NASA did not send rockets into space, they instead spent the money on developing advanced computers and imaging software instead
I KNEW IT!!!

Quote
Q: "Why doesn't water run off the Earth?"

A: There is a vast ice wall that keeps the water where it is. This explains why you can find a vast plane of ice when you travel south. The height of the Ice Wall is hotly debated. Several possible models exist and are supported by different FE proponents:

  - The Ice Wall (possibly synoymous with the Ross Ice Shelf) is 150 feet tall, and holds in the oceans. Atmosphere/atmolayer is either contained by another means or is universal.

  - The Ice Wall is between 40 and 50 thousand feet high, and holds in not only the world's oceans, but 40000-50000 feet of atmolayer as well.

Antarctica as a continent does not exist - rather it is a ring of ice around the entire circumference of the Earth..
A huge Ice Wall no one can see because the Government is hiding/protecting it so people will continue to believe the world is round? Oh we must keep this quiet though.. Their watching us :shh:

Discuss!

Release Date - May 22nd 2009

Director - McG(Charlie's Angels Full Throttle, We Are Marshall)

Cast - Christian Bale(John Connor), Sam Worthington(Terminator), Anton Yelchin(Kyle Reese), Moon Bloodgood(Kick ass name haha/New Character), Bryce Dallas Howard(Kate Connor), Roland Kickinger(T-800)

IMDB Page.
Wikipedia Page.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a Terminator whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind.

Still kinda skeptical about this movie, I mean McG isn't really the greatest director but.. I don't know I think I'll wait and see with this one.

Edit - New trailer released. Honestly.. It looks at least decent and it shows Christian Bale had a say in the movie. But to really say my thoughts on this I will have to wait and see it.

Director - John Moore(Flight of the Phoenix, Behind Enemy Lines)

Release Date - October 17th 2008

Well the trailer is up(Obviously from that^)and although John Moore hasn't had the best track record, has managed to peak my interest with this. The games I don't think Ive played but my brother says their pretty good. Figured I would put some info in this topic for the sake of it..

Quote from: Wikipedia
The plot will be based on the plot of the first Max Payne game, but with certain differences and some new characters.

Three years prior to the movie's beginning, tragedy struck NYPD detective Max Payne (Wahlberg) when his wife and daughter were murdered; the killers were never found.

In the present, a series of murders arises that bear resemblance to the method in which Payne's wife was killed. Investigating the matter further and realizing that the two cases are connected, Payne comes into conflict with the police department, a sister of one of the victims (Kunis), the local mafia, and a prospering drug manufacturing corporation.

What do you guys think?

More detail from Square president,
no more non-mainstream games allowed

Quote
So you enjoyed The World Ends With You? Too bad. You won't be seeing anything remotely like it from Square-Enix anytime soon, according to company president Yoichi Wada, who recently issued an ultimatum to his staff: if any games are made that don't fit into the mainstream's circle of interest, job cuts will follow. So long, unique concepts that break the mold!

This was supposedly part of a heated business meeting in which Square discussed the results of their 2007 fiscal year, which were none too sunny, showing general profits down 20 percent and taking the worst of it in overseas sales.

Business is business, but I have to say my heart sank when I read those words. If Square was doing anything I was excited to see, it was things outside the Final Fantasy spectrum, but financial troubles like this certainly excise any hope of experimental titles in the future (at least until the numbers improve). I'm glad to see the giant falter a bit, if only in hopes that the results will push them towards a more focused future.

Link!

...and so begins the low-risk future of the gaming industry. Prepare to see more cookie-cut games playing off the same tried-and-true formulas. Companies either can't afford to or won't chance many ideas that may flop.

Sad days...but I've expected it since before this generation started, where devs complained about the high cost of developing for this generation of consoles. The number of engineers and artists necessary make mean high costs...which mean less room for creativity (who can afford it?).

*sigh*

Could you kill someone for money, is their a big enough price for you to take someones life? To expand on this.. Would it really matter to you if the person you were to kill was someone of a horrible nature, would that make it any easier for you in any way?

To be honest if the price were right and the person I had to kill was someone like a pedophile or rapist then I probably would end his/her life, if it was just self defense I probably couldn't handle it, seeing that image of what I'd done would possibly drive me to suicide in the end.

Say someone did something disgusting or vile to you would you take the life of the person who did those things, even though he/she had done them in some way would you think death for them be to easy and to hard on you?

I hope that made sense?

The story revolves around a runner named Faith and her struggle to free her sister from a corrupt government. Her parents were killed and she was forced to grow up on the street, later becoming a runner. Faith was taught not to rely on modern forms of communication, partially because the ruthless police state prefers eavesdropping every chance they get. As Faith attempts to rescue her sister, while running messages for the criminal underworld, she gets caught up in a series of events which lead to her being pursued by the totalitarian government. Acting as Faith's guide is a mysterious character named Mercury, who will help Faith in her attempt to outwit and overcome the many government agents that are out to eliminate her

Teaser Trailer.
Ripped music of the end of the Trailer.

I really like the music in the trailer, it seems so.. tranquil and gives you that sense of freedom I guess, and the game it self seems really nice, like a mixture of parkor(That free running shit) and Prince of Persia. After seeing that trailer I'm actually quite pumped to see what this game is like. Oh and does anyone know the artist of the song, I'd really like to find out basically to download it haha.

DOOM 4 is officially entering development, as id Software today began accepting applications for employment to work on the game. Just as big in the "news" category: DOOM 4 will take place on Earth.
To get DOOM 4 off on the right development foot, id Software is expanding its internal team to work on the title, which will presumably ship for PS3 and Xbox 360 in addition to a PC version.

In its now-hiring announcement, id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead said, "DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth. It's critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles."

It's funny that the one sequel we most wanted from EA is the one they've been most reluctant to develop:

Quote
May 7, 2008 - EA revolutionized boxing games with Fight Night. Not wanting to let a good thing rest for too long, EA is stepping back into the ring, announcing Fight Night Round 4 for PS3 and Xbox 360. Though Round 4 won't be hitting store shelves until 2009, EA is starting the hype train early.

"The EA Sports Fight Night franchise has always been synonymous with quality and innovation that raised the bar for the sports videogame genre," said Kevin Wilkinson, Executive Producer, EA Sports. "EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 was a platform defining game as the industry transitioned to next generation consoles. EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 will change how boxing games are played and measured in the future."

Developed by EA Canada, Fight Night Round 4 promises that "no fight will be the same." Along with adding more fighting styles, Round 4 features a new physics-based animation system that allows for more realistic-looking missed punches, glancing blows and jaw-rocking knockouts. The game engine is being completely re-written to allow for greater boxer diversity and "rough and tumble" inside fighting.

The full list of boxers has not been released, but a few names have been revealed. Muhammad Ali is back again and will be able to enter the ring with Sugar Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis and "Iron" Mike Tyson, among others. You read that right -- Mike "That is a Tattoo on My Face" Tyson is making his return to videogames. Hallelujah.

Well I always thought the Playstation 3 was a reliable piece of hardware, I mean I keep it in a well ventilated area, always make sure it's clean and dust free but no, I suddenly try to play The Orange Box a couple of days ago and I get a.."Error 80010514" I even called up the Sony help line and they kept asking me really stupid questions like "Did you hit the Playstation 3 with a hammer?" and kept going on about how reliable and proud they are with their system, got kind of annoying after a while.

Anyways I have Grand Theft Auto IV on pre-order and this sh!t happens so it has to be sent away for a MONTH!!! so I cant even play the game Ive been waiting for since it's announcement.

Edit - To elaborate more on "Error 80010514" It's an error with the Blue Ray drive or whatever and what it does is it doesn't read Blue Ray discs anymore, which is the only thing I want it to do just a few days away from Grand Theft Auto IV!
