Using any of PicPointerPatch's features when applied to the Power Patch RPG_RT results in an error:
Fallo al insertar
(D:\ha\02rpg2000\2003\RPG_RT\LGD_Picture.pas, 526 Line)

I haven't been using Power Patch long so I don't know what throws that error. (It's under RM2K3)

Your audience is limited without cash, obviously, but things in addition are always helpful.

Anyway, I don't think the tie is an issue. The first and second place prizes can just be averaged, and both Hima and Anaryu get that amount.

I don't think that the "just bragging rights" contest would go very far now unless it was *big.* However, with GW6 alive it might be possible to do something like a feature on the winner or something of that nature. I like the idea of trying to have another humongous competition, but the problem lies in securing entries. Maybe a combination between the scale of monetary prize offered here, feature, other e-rewards, and it could work. Another issue might be hype, as far as that goes. I know Sarevok's was posted all over the place, and so it naturally received more entries. Maybe we reach out to other game-making communities, not just the general RM stuff but also GameMaker or Java/C++ places as well. Obviously, the cash would attract a bunch of people, but then again, GW gets more members in the process.

I'd tend to disagree with the two weeks isn't enough to make a game... For instance, Hello Panda was made in two weeks like the rest of them, and it's very polished, even without considering the timeframe. If you look at Terra Nova, it was 1.5 weeks making the systems and then the rest making the levels which were never played. A shorter period means more emphasis on gameplay than bulking up on stuff most people never see.

I'd be very interested in lowering the timespan of the competitions. At least some of us don't have too much free time... The shorter the commitment, the more entries I believe you'll receive. Another issue is beating the contest thing to death. If it's always happening, then there's no real incentive. It's a marathon session 24/7. Might be nice to space this stuff out a bit more. Maybe a quarterly 2-week or something, theme chosen by last contest's winner, with the winner featured on the front or something like that.

And I don't think the theme had much to do with it. I thought it was a neat idea to try and get people to expand their boundaries. Actually, on second thought, maybe it did deter some people, namely the RM2K/3 DBS crowd... Not that that's a real BAD thing, I know Sarevok was flooded with lousy games. (I really wish I didn't fall into that)

I feel really bad for having a glitch-filled game. Most of the work went into the writing and later character portraits. There's another 7 levels besides Corinth that it seems no one has played... Oh well. At least it seems JMickle is getting really good reviews!

Wow, and I thought Hima had first for sure...

Neok might be right about the number of entries... Or else, I know I'm more likely to enter shorter contests. I've been doing nothing but this project since the announcement, so I'm not prepared to sign up for another two months of that. Nackster, maybe a bi-monthly contest, but a week in duration or something of the like?

Just for this comment, the contest is invalidated.

The exact same thing happened to me. I had no idea what the game was about, what I was supposed to do, or anything. (Which is why I wasn't sure about the RPG thing). In any case I was too busy fixing my own game's glitches to invest time in a mystery game.

I would've liked to see more.

So... Are any of these actual RPGs? Seems weird. Anyway, unfortunately it looks unlikely there will be a WombatRPGs entry in the next contest... Making the custom systems is way too time consuming to be done year-round. Actually, Nackster, are you intending to hold a Jan-Feb contest? (Decided on a theme yet?)

Note to all who couldn't run Terra Nova: I've changed the installer to include the RTP, I forgot to do so with the last release. It should be playable now. Link to the newest version:

I surprised Set Hero Transparency isn't on the list.

Oh, wait, hey, it's Crenomaster. Nice.

EDIT: Why on earth did I think this topic was new...? My bad.
