the enemy monstersets are way too high resolution especially when paired with the character sprites, same with the hero sprite on the world map

ok enough world map forever

is this total overlay overkill? i kind of like it and at least i made my own shadow canopy instead of using that one, (i know you know the one)

i couldnt get a good show of it i think it looks better in game but whatever - question remains, should i tone it down

been working exclusively on the world map for the last week or so, whole things about done finally, this will probably be the last screens I show of it

pyramid city

canyonland, and the star temple

should I keep the lighter blue water around the coasts or does it look tacky? eventually i plan to animate it so it ripples gently, but I want to decide if it even looks good

thanks for the replies everyone

OddButInteresting, you have a good point about the pictures appearing, i didnt even notice but i'll make sure each screen fades in aftre the pics appear

king k rool is a dope, with that dumb ass expression on his face all the time. but yea the game is based on a comic series i made like 11 years ago, so to a 10 year old kid having a lizard as the main antagonist made perfect sense. I was wondering if people would think I ripped off koopa more than k rool but i can definitely see either one. Except crocks a bad ass and doesnt have to worry about nintendo censors. He a free spirit

workin on the west continent world map. its too big to post the whole thing, but how does it look so far? the
weird lookin coast line is an area called Sherbet Shores, so thats why it looks kind of wacky.  Also, can you tell thats a crater?

this demo is takin so much longer to prepare than I thought... cheers.

bottom of the page like usual

UPRC, i think the small trees and canopy leaf colors don't compliment the grass you have in that outer screenshot. The leaves are all minty and the grass is all olivey. I may be nitpicking but that kind of jumped out at me.

Also, some giant roots would definitely make that giant tree trunk more trunk like. It kind of just looks like a cliff as it is. If you dont have the room in your chipset to edit roots in, you could  make the entire base of the tree as a panorama, easier to sprite that way.

Inner chipset is lookin' great though

Marcus that is the coolest thing i've seen in a while. Really, I don't think the charset clashes THAT bad at all. In fact, its quite easy on the eyes -especially compared to most games with hand drawn backgrounds. I would love to see more of your levels, that shit is lookin FINE

@Cray

consider reducing the thickness of the HP and MP bars, the numbers dont quite overlap they just sit on the bottom edge, it creates a lot of tension and your eye is drawn right to it. I like the look of all of those screens though, how hard is makign moving platforms? I tried a while ago but wasn't getting it right

Lennon that looks neat, but you should shorten the lamps. How many lamps are there that are taller than the door?

Some friends and I have been jamming to mega man music for many years. Recently a friend came into some recording equipment and we threw together a little cd. Straight X Series music, no synths and no dumb vocals over the songs or any shit like that. Figured people here would appreciate this

right now we just have some Maverick Levels Themes up,

www.myspace.com/thexhunters

were in the process of recording new songs, so there should be more to come

hope you enjoy
