something flipped in my head tonight and i started thinking of steel and i went back and read through that whole thread and jesus christ

i exchanged so few words with him directly but that entire creative period of the site and everything that he and like hundley and everyone was doing back then was hands down the thing that most impacted my growth and development as a creator and as a person

i could've shook his hand, or hugged him, or done anything to let him know back then how much of an influence he'd had on me

he would be so important today. he is, still, but

man.

as a long-time fan of both anime and dwarfs the official dakimakura is especially appealing to me

unfortunately until an al bhed translation is totally cleared i can't bring myself to back this.

my only problem with this as a whole is that the vocals seem to be slightly off-time in a lot of places, but even with that this is really really good, man.

he and steve went to a porcupine tree concert in raleigh that me and a friend went to too. he sent me a pm like ten minutes after i had already left for the concert:

Quote
dude get back to me asap; my aim is thepeorian, or pm me.

I'm going to the pt concert LETS MEET.

i hit him up on aim when i got home and apparently we were like one row of people apart. we never met, though.

i guess that's not gonna change now.

i don't get why people are saying TYPICAL POSTROCK i've always associated typical postrock with EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and MOGWAI and whatever and this isn't really either of them at all.

the first four tracks are pretty cool (havenot is tight) but i don't think it really starts to pick up until the math. after that it is really really good though this is tight. you took too long though! you are slow! this is good though make more.

also i dumped all my postrock/mathrock/silly music blogs a while back so i don't really have any to suggest. maybe drop the silent ballet an email? they're big with POSTROCK CROWD or whatever and you're post enough so maybe being featured or interviewed or something will help idk.

i messed around with it a little bit today but i didn't really dig too deep. it's a novel concept, but i can't imagine it's capable of a lot - the MS-10 was mad basic, though this has two VCOs so it might be a little more powerful. also controlling the keyboard with a stylus (i really don't like actually touching the touchscreen with my fingers i'm afraid of breaking it (rip nintendium)) feels awkward and i couldn't figure out any like HOLD NOTE stuff so idk. i like the patch cables though they're a nice touch.

edit i'm dumb there's a sequencer built in. also some of these presets are kindof impressive maybe this isn't too bad.

so bethsoft is finally releasing the construction set next month! they're also releasing three DLCs between january and march apparently.

Quote
Operation: Anchorage: Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.

The Pitt: Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.

Broken Steel: Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.

i'm not sure what to think about the DLCs (they seem a lot better than oblivion's first DLCs), but the construction set is pretty good news for people who vehemently hate the game and want to change it to make it better! i was considering getting it for the 360 but i will probably wind up getting it for pc now.

i lived in East Marion, NY until i was like twelve. i don't actually remember a whole lot about the town itself (all i saw of it was on the bus route and it all looked pretty much the same) but it's interesting to note that there is only one black family.

i live in Vanceboro, NC now, which is only slightly larger and pretty much just a big cliche rural town. also i never knew the strawberry festival had a street dance before tonight that is pretty cool.
