I concur.
Also I would drive past Jeremy Clarkson In it and laugh.

while this thread mostly just highlights how many people are still wilfully ignorant of how evolution really works, I am very pleased to see some of the brilliant and well thought out replies some people have posted (they're much better then I think I could have done).

I've been reading Richard Dawkin's "the selfish gene" recently and I have to say it is a fascinating read, hopefully this experiment with help further our understanding of how gene's work and how they mutate.

Yeah my family computer had a an Athlon 64 but we used XP 32 bit because the 64 version had no drivers, making it pretty much useless. Its annoying but hey thats windows for you (Unlike Mac which pretty much just scrapped everything and rebuilt it with better 64-bit support). They are going to have to go properly 64-bit at some point though because 32-bit cannot support enough RAM.

I'm actually looking at this graphics card at the moment http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=608478, which looks pretty good. Just have to wait until it is released.

yeah you are probably right. One person I know said that I should wait until I have £1500 to spend but I think that might be a bit over the top, but then again I think that another guy who said he built his for £300 pounds probably only got away with that because he isn't that much of a gamer. I can probably get together some more money (even as a uni student), but I would still be interested in how much I need to spend on each part, at least things like motherboards. Are there any places were I really need to be careful?

I am hoping to build a computer for the first time soon and I was hoping to get some advice. I'm not just asking for people to tell me what to buy (although suggestions are welcome) but I would quite like to get some get some general spending guidelines. Firstly I currently have about £500 to spend on a new computer, am I being a bit overambitious trying to build a decent machine for this kind of cash? Should I wait until I have a bit more cash? Secondly how much should I roughly be spending on each of the parts? I have been told that I only need to spend about £50 on a motherboard, and that 2GB of RAM should be enough. Keep in mind that I am a gamer so I would rather it be reasonably powerful.

Any general advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Unfortunately I very much doubt that they will be able to go back to they way they were living. But if they can create there own country that runs well then that would be great, although I very much doubt that would happen. What I don't like is how they say America is taking "their children", how exactly? do they mean that kids are going and becoming more integrated with the rest of American culture because they prefer what it has to offer? well then tough luck, its their choice, thats just as bad as religious people trying to stop their children marrying people of anouther/no faith.

drops the bomb that she's 3 months pregnant after fucking some guy she met at church.

iiiiiiiiirony.

This is why I prevent my little brother and sister from watching this shit!
At least they grow up watching shit like RECESS or JACKIE CHAN etc.

oh man Jackie Chan was ace (I assume you are referring to the cartoon series right?).

as for teens nowadays, well I have been living up in Hull recently while at university and apparently a lot of the girls round there get pregnant just so they can claim benefits. Somebody said that on the bus they heard two girls discussing how they can't wait to get pregnant so they can claim benefits. its really quite depressing, and takes money away form the more deserving, not to mention the total disregard for another's human being, ie the babies, wellbeing. Yeah it does seem like some of these shows are forcing a shallow veiw of life on children today, especially girls (although I don't think TV has anything to do with the aforementioned situation).

This is a blatant abuse of trust and just plain creepy. I think it could hurt the kid psychologically if they know about it and are not counseled about it, so it is in no way a victimless crime. The principle should obviously be stopped from working with children, and probably punished, but at the same time I do not think that this is anywhere near as bad as actual child pornography were there is actual physical abuse. It seems to be a bit of a tricky subject really since it is sort of a legal grey area, and the subject is such an emotional one.

Seconded; it's not really a true MMO, but the same could be said about Nexus War and Urban Dead.

Is Urban dead on the list? If not maybe it should be added, after all it is all about player interaction (and there is a lot of metagaming). If it is added then Kingdom of Loathing should definitely be added as well, that was a pretty funny game.

Ultimate Boot CD -- http://www.ubcd4win.com/index.htm -- its based on Bart PE but it has a lot of plugins already set up, which is useful if you are having trouble with BartPE (or can't be bothered).
