It's 1:48 AM, my World of Warcraft account is currently undergoing the "pending" problem that many users are experiencing, and I'm incredibly bored. So, what to do in this boredom? Oh my god, remember GamingW, how I used to browse the forums and lurk IRC all the time? Let's go check it out! SaltW, what the hell is this shit?

Anyway, just wanted to drop a line, see if I find anyone who remembers me whatsoever.

EDIT: Where's my premium status man? I paid good money for that back in the day.

We're hyped about this game because it's written by Tim Schafer, not because Jack Black is in it.

This. Tenacious D is alright in a quirky kind of way and in that sense I like Jack Black... in film sense no... has he made a good film?

I rented The Spirit last night and it wasn't near as good as the trailers played it out to be. I missed a chance to see it in theaters and so I was really excited to watch it. The character's were stiff... made completely out of cardboard. The focus of the film was entirely subject to special effects and the comic book look which originally drew me to it, but when they began neglecting plot and character depth their was just really no point in it. I thought it was a good idea with great cinematography and visuals but in the end was wasted on lame acting and a bad plot. Thank you once again Lions Gate....

Hopefully this swine flu stuff will shut people about the stupid bird flu. The media blows everything so out of proportion.

I liked Brendan Fraser in Encino Man.

I don't though I still thought his acting was pretty crummy. By the way this is my official statement that I reclaiming my topic as my internets work again. Thanks you Blizten A WHOLE LOT for keeping it going in my leave.

I'll update it hopefully by the end of today!

I've seen the first movie on tv, so I don't know of this Hypno Toad extra.

It basically sets you up as a regular sitcom and then is a half-hour of hypno toad's glaring eyes with the odd noise in the back.

heres trailer for movie 3.

I liked the trailer for the new one... compared to the second it looks alot better. I really liked the medieval esque setting and all the refrences from D&D to LotR. I'm looking forward to this one much more thanks to this trailer.

Even though the twist as missingno also agrees with was pretty predictable I still thought that Smith gave a nice performance and was an overall great movie experience. I would like to compare it to the likes of this years other superhero films, but it's really not the same level as other superhero films. I am not saying it's NOT a superhero film, but I am not saying it IS a superhero film.

Overall the movie was a great film overall that alot of people can sink into and was just a good movie in general.

Psyburn pretty much nailed everything you need for filming. Basically just try and rent the best possible camera you can buy/rent/afford. Try and get the camera in 24 fps by all means possible and if possible try and find one that shoots in widescreen. The main thing is just the camera as crappy editing as displeasurable as it is can be overlooked more than crappy video.

Also as Psyburn said it would be more benefical if you practiced on shorts or "home" videos before you start trying for a great project. Although I will encourage you to try your best and make a great film, but don't be discouraged if your film is viewed and is criticized harshly.

Hay, wat lvl is ur woodcuttingg? Mien is abot lvl 34 it's kinda hi.

But to stay on subject I actually hope they get another class similar to the paladin. As over-powered as it could get with special tweaks online it was probably the most entertaining class.

dude this sounds excellent. i want to see an animated movie that pisses off republicans!

Someone else who's seen it, tell me if it's not too gay and over-the-top

It's really not that bad it's just another pixar film. If you don't wanna feel silly going alone take a girlfriend or a younger family member, or go in a large group of friends. But to be honest it's really a decent movie, great CG animation and music, and just an all around bright happy feel around it.

Cloverfield was basically a thriller and not really a horror genre, but I will agree that it was a pretty creative and interesting movie.

As for recent horror films I agree it's been a real suckfest. I'm not a giant fan of the horror genre, but I haven't seen many that I would watch just for the sake of film. I have probably seen only one good horror film recently and to be honest it wasn't incredible, and that would be the oh-so talked about in this talk: The Descent. Other than that your pretty dry on the horror side to be honest.

Schindler's List

This is probably the main reason why Spielberg is so high up on my list. Schindler's List is by far one of the most intriquing and greatest movies of all time. Not often does a film come along that produces such "emotion" I should say.

Sure, I love mostly all of Spielberg's films, but this is the main reason I placed him at number two.

The camera I use on most of my films is a Panasoc AG-DVC30 and I absolutely love the quality it produces, but it's not the typical budget camcorder. Since you may not have access to expensive school equipment you could use any basic budget camcorder as you don't always need the best equipment to succed.

Anyway I suggest trying to get the following things in a camcorder; 16:9/Letterbox, a 24p, and CCD Chips. These will drastically alter your films and are very precious to the film-making process for specfic features.

5) Martin Scorsese
4) Alfred Hitchcock
3) Stanley Kubrick
2) Steven Speilburg
1) Tim Burton

These are my personal favorites based on creativeness and all around vision for the films they make.

Unfortunately stickies also basically get no attention.  Maybe this will be added to the GW Round-Up, though.

edit: or maybe this is being ignored because there's already a Hancock topic HUH who knows

I don't pick em' I just reports em'. Well either way I just found it somewhat helpful to post these topics, and I have no solution since making a topic every week will flood. Yet, then there is the problem of the overlooking of stickies. Anyway, even though the topic may get overlooked I would like to get back to the topic on hand if at all possible.
