Icon filled desktops are ugly. The wallpaper is a peace of art that is sometimes nice to look at. I wouldn't destroy it with ugly icons. :( Also, there is no need for icons any longer when there are keystroke programs like gnome-do, launchy etc.

Hell yeah that was some good fun.

Also for anyone playing this on the PC like I am, if you look at the launch menu it says "data files." So that pretty much confirms that there will be something to allow mods or for creation of mods, otherwise Bethesda wouldn't need to put it there.
There are several mods out right now, but none that are created with a construction set. - http://www.fallout3nexus.com/
I'm using MTUI which makes the UI better for us PC users.

I'm actually wondering if they'll release a CS. They may fear that people will create childkilling and nudity mods, and maybe they also want to earn money on their own content instead. My guess is that the data files area is for content that can be bought later. :/ I'm really hoping for a CS though.

This game reminds me more of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines than Oblivion. Similar feeling when shooting, stiff animations, computer hacking, similar level-uping, similar dialogues, etc. Still, it's a fun game so far.

There's so much to do and discover, both by exploration and the story. If I make a bad/good decision it can lock out certain parts of the game that can be interesting to discover in a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th play through. I can choose to be a stupid Half-Ogre with 1 in intelligence so all the dialogues becomes something completely different for example.

The only contact I had with a church in my early years was in school, usally around christmas. I never thought a lot about spiritual stuff. I never asked my parents about any god/gods from what I can remeber, I guess both were athiests, and I still think they are. There was just so much more interesting things to think about. And now when I think about religions I just think of them as fairytales that have brought some really bad people and some interesting culture to our world.

7-8 years? Probably the longest time I've been a member on a forum without leaving. (But I'm not very active...)

The music sounds better on the Dreamcast. If music isn't a big deal for you, then play the GC one.

Beryl merged with Compiz.

Compiz is available by default in Ubuntu 7.10 if your videocard supports it (also maybe not if you haven't installed any drivers for your card). Check System > Properties > Appearance and Desktop Effects.

If you want more options you'll have to install compizconfig-settings-manager.

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

I never listen to music when I sleep. But I think some of these may work...

http://www.last.fm/music/2002
http://www.last.fm/music/Marcome
http://www.last.fm/music/Yanni
http://www.last.fm/music/Amethystium

And then just browse similar artists if you like it.
