Don't worry guys. Drule assured me about 7 months ago that the frontpage being broken didn't matter because the new site was so close to finished.

It's pretty tough thinking about the fact that he used to be just a name in a database hosted in some random data center, and now the real man behind that name is gone. He didn't just logoff, get disinterested, or get too busy. He died.

The world seemed considerably darker today.

One wrong thing about what you are saying, Moriason, is that game making died.

You are only half right. It died at GW. It left and went other places. RPG Maker XP and VX have been quite big and other communities have sprung up that deal with them. GW did not really embrace them and fizzled out. The fresh blood went elsewhere.

(if you find it let me know)

We're not witnessing the end of GW ... We're witnessing the rebirth of GW. GW needs to start over in order to get stronger

There was a time when 40 different subforums made sense. Not anymore

There was a time when our staff could write compelling articles to compete with other sites. Not anymore

Reinvention is the only way we can fix this. And fix it, we will.

So here's what the new GW is going to be....

-- And that ends my horrible spoof on the GM Reinvention commercial as I have no clue what the new GW IS going to be.

Regardless, Drule seems to have a passion and drive to get things going and he seems to know what did not work in the past few years and he's doing his best to get GW going again.

So give your kudos to him, he deserves it.

How many radical new mainsites do you need until all passionate individuals are exhausted?

I don't think GW wants to be about game development anymore, so why try to force it? If Drule is taking the site out of the realm of game development, he deserves kudos. That isn't this userbase's interest anymore.

As far as the mainsite techically, it seems alright. Nothing amazing or shocking but seems to work. It's obvious where this is trying to go due to the various links.

Anyone else notice that pretty much all the usernames in this topic are different colors? Just making an observation.

To be more accurate, I wasn't really at a site before, Marcus. I found links to GW from other sites and registered on the forums in 2000. Had to reregister a couple times because Bart kept putting up new forum systems.

I am glad you lack the comprehension to understand my reasons for locking the topic. I try to stem off any bullshit that gets thrown RMN's way from GW and it never works. I tell Steel "good luck with fighting cancer" and I am chastized. You people are absolutely amazing.

People are apparently disgusted with me for my last post in this thread. I apologize if my post came off overly dickish and uncaring. Cancer is never a joke, which I tried to explain in that post. It has wrought some close acquantances of mine; some of which succumbed to it. Just because I didn't copy and paste my post, does not mean I don't hope for Steel's recovery.

And that is very good news about the tumor.

You are a piece of shit person and I don't respect anything you do. However, cancer is a pretty terrible thing.

A coworker of mine was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. Be prepared for the worst experience of your life, as chemo is devastating to your body. Don't use metal silverware. You will also lose a lot of weight. May need some blood transfusions as well.

Good luck.

Played for about an hour last night. I've got three power stars now and the game is pretty great so far! No worthless exposition or anything. Just pure platforming goodness.

Which ones did you see? I didn't see any.
Just some framebuffer issues, it looks like. Notably the cursor when you go to select a target.

I vote we change this thread to "PSP Recent Piracy Breakthroughs". Pirating PSX games is not homebrew.

It's pretty amazing that Sony basically just made an emulator for all the piraters. That's what they get for requiring a fucking PS3 to do it legally, eh?

Also, that does look pretty solid. I could see there were just a few emulation issues, but that's perfectly fine.
