The Money Store was definitely album of the year for me, followed by Mature Themes (although honestly, I think it was much more accessible than Before Today).
Also loved AM & Shawn Lee's
Celestial Electric (I was lucky enough to see them play at a record store in East London and they were
fantastic). Flying Lotus'
Until The Quiet Comes (hey look Elijah Wood!), while not as strong as his earlier work, was great too, and Tindersticks'
The Something Rain was decent.
Apart from those I'd have to agree that 2012 was a pretty mediocre year for music.
