Midwest Product changed how interested in music I was and lead me to actually listen, feel, think, about music more than I have ever before.  Their album "Specifics" remains on my top five favorite albums.  However, more recently I feel that Fleet Foxes are starting to invade the way I write music or it could be a current trend.  Not exactly life changing, just a new era in my ability to create.

I don't think you guys could be more wrong.  This is a good direction.  It still keeps a Bond flare yet has a new feel which is why they rebooted Bond in the first place.

its a free download off of their site

so, ill be the first to say im a little disappointed. they boasted how this was going into a new direction and i feel like its the same thing over again. the lyrics are incredibly weak, the guitar sounds horrible in the song, the layered vocals are kind of stupid.  it reminds me of a maroon five song.  im still looking forward to the album, there is bound to be one or two jems. though i dont think this is the masterpiece everyone has been hoping for - nothing new, radio friendly, market pleaser.

Artist:Aphex Twin
Album: Selected Ambient Works 85-92

If you are unfamiliar with Aphex Twin, or if you would like to get to know him, I would suggest you start out with this album.  I think it's his best album (as a collective,) and is absolutely brilliant.  I listen to it all the time, studying, driving, painting, and writing. It's extremely inspiring to me and has been for quite some time.  The fact that it was recorded directly to tape and that it was attacked by his cat, and him recording some of these songs when he was 15 all makes up why I like this album so much.  It's definitely a jem.  It's wonderful set to any mood.  It's extremely mellow and lush, but not boring like some ambient CAN fall into.  It's such a warm album, not just due to sound quality (though it adds to the effect) but how encompassing it is.  I think out of the people that give the album a chance they find it becoming one of their favorites.

* = my favorites; although, i like the entire album.
bold = one of my favorite songs of all time.

i saw this movie with the expectation that everybody loves it.  it is weak and is highly overrated.  at BEST i would give this movie a 5/10.

the name drops became annoying. it constantly focuses on making "hip" teens feel cool because they know of the current or have heard of semi-past pop culture.  the characters were, for the most part, the same. everyone was witty. most of the jokes were forced. its great if you are early teens and want to quote something in front of your friends to sound funny- otherwise the dialog was absolutely atrocious. the indie girl with guitar image was boring - likewise the "original" music.

for example the hamburger phone; why does she insist you know she has a hamburger phone - she criticizes everyone when they pay attention even after shes been crying for attention. she stuffs her face, wrappers cluttered around her, questioning everyone why they stare at her - despite the fact she is eating in the trophy case with her belly intentionally showing.

it definitely should not be ranked 129 in the greatest movies of all time. the story can be summed up in a minute, hell, watch the trailer and you won't need to see this movie. everything was predictable.  if you are 11-15 years old and you like to watch two hours of its irresponsible american teens thinking they are clever without actually portraying cleverness, then you might like this movie.

neglecting the impact/consequences of teenage pregnancy, childbirth and the surrender of newborn children once again. its okay to get pregnant at age 16, and it can be (uneventfully) funny too.

I think the only character that has actually effected me, to be honest, is Denzel Washington when he plays Alonzo in "Training Day."  Seriously.

I take it you're trying to be edgy and cool by talking about ..having a shit?
To be honest, the last thing I want to hear when beginning to watch a short film is hear about someone else having a shit.
And considering that was the only theme of the film, then it didn't work at all and came across pretty pretentious.

PS: Goddamn your sig.
i wasnt exactly trying to be "edgy" - it was more or less the first thing to come to mind.  if you knew my friend tim, who is constantly talking about shit/shitting then you might understand the joke a little more.  i suppose it does come off as very gross and gross subjects, but i stated that in the beginning.

it was ok i guess. i feel like you were trying to be a SHORTER, DUMBER fight club though which bugged me.
thanks.

i always figured blu-ray would win. its a superior format and had sony's backing from the beginning and later on warner brothers backed it too.  im glad it "won" even though it seemed to me there was no real contest.  im tired of acronyms everywhere and only making dvd as a longer acronym is absolutely stupid. hd-dvd. come on.  sony already had a backwards compatable ps3, so im sure "they" will make a backwards compatable blu-ray player that plays dvd's as well.

also, i dont play video games anymore... but am i just stupid or something or does sony really make games for the ps3? i dont think they are to blame. not to mention, there are good games coming out for the ps3 - metal gear solid 4 ALONE is a reason to buy. not to mention, its been out for a year... how long did it take xbox 360 to make GOOD games? halo 3 bombed out - no one i know even plays it anymore. it might have sold like hot cakes but everyone is tired of it. halo 3 also took a year after xbox 360's release. oh and gta4 is coming out soon too. it takes awhile for games to come out.

but what the fuck do i know.

There is a sample of it that I recorded.  There is a high pitched flicker noise in the background of all my movies that I try to record with iSight (built in mac webcam.)  I put my ear up really close to the webcam and it turns out that its either the mic making that noise or the webcam.  I was wondering if you guys know a way to reduce this or remove it completely - or if its just a hardware issue that I can't do too much about.

I tried it with both iMovie HD and a program called iRecord, both have same results.  Also tried it with no speaker volume and with speaker volume, no improved results.

If I get into the University of Michigan it's going to be really hard to decide if I want to go there or Kalamazoo.
Go to Michigan.  That isn't even a question.

Ann Arbor as a town is 1000x better than the city of Kalamazoo.  I went to Western Michigan, believe me, Kalamazoo is not that good and Ann Arbor is good.  Not to mention, Michigan has a lot of other things to offer you (besides education,) that will enhance your college experience by another 1000.  Furthermore, isn't Kalamazoo college EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE?  I believe Michigan is cheaper, not to mention, I believe they have a better reputation.

Go to Michigan and I will see you next year at the football game against Michgan State.

Go to Kalamazoo, for the name alone.
Lame.

Well, I searched for the lyrics on google (or what I thought the lyrics were and couldn't find anything... so as for my opinion you're shit out of luck.  Unfortunately, I am probably the only response you're going to get.

I don't know how to read Jap/Chink (and after listening to the song, I don't know why you would want it...) but I'll give you this link instead so you can just rip it from youtube.
