Oh, wow. I thought that old thread was lost at sea forever.
Yep, this is the finished version of Horror Story. Everything from the demo is still in here, just reworked quite a bit.
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

STORY

Based on a true story. No, srsly. I swear.

The year...is 2009. The world of Earth is no longer as we know it. A bizarre incident has changed the very fabric of reality, shifting our planet into a macabre, confusing place.
Only a seldom few know what ocurred. Most fail to realize anything had happened at all. But for some, they walk about in the day with the sense that something is wrong...

Enter 1980's sort-of star, Rick Astley! Venturing into the wasteland of former New Jersey, now populated by vampires, zombies and Mike Tyson, he races to the badlands to aid his friend!
However, he is thrust into events and drawn by opposing forces that would shape the world forever. Discover secrets of the new world; why the zombies roam Jersey, why Rick quit the industry, and why nothing makes any sense in the slightest, and something about Ronald Reagan.
Join Rick and friends in the confusing adventure that is...!

Intro
About a year ago, I posted the demo to this game under a different name. Luckily, it sucks significantly less than it did then, although some did enjoy it's quirky little style. The Rick Astley Story is a mentally unbalanced, ludicrous little sequence of randomness trying to contain itself inside an at-times melodramatic plothole. I mean plotline. It's a fairly brief game, my final run-through was less than 6 hours, including the 2 fairly brief "spin-off" chapters after the credits.

Unfortunately, I've had some rather dumb technical difficulties with the RPG Maker's compression, making the .rar way too big. Please let me know if there are any problems with it.

This is totally realistic.

This is totally a bridge.

Wait, WTF?

This is drama, people. Super serial drama.

BOOM!

BOOM BOOM!

Oh yeah, there's a battle system somewhere in there, too.

Features (Bah, like this half-baked list will sway anyone):
-Unique world to visit
-Tons of characters to interact with
-Over 15 playable characters
-At least 6 hours of gameplay
-Large variety of custom-made or edited sprites and animations
-Arbitrary sidequests
-A bestiary that can't actually be completed (Oops)

Phew, thanks a ton. I looked through a lot of pages here, but apparently not enough. That explains the error message (I sifted through the error report to ac3v whatever, but had no idea what it was or what to do with it), too.

Love the game...till it suddenly crashes.

It happens after the chase scene. You know the one, very close to the beginning. After it ends and Jordan says his 2 lines, it just suddenly crashes (Barkely Gaiden has experienced a difficult and needs to close), with absolutely no hints as to what went wrong, and always in that same spot. Plays fine before that, except there's an odd sound whenever music changes or repeats. Does anyone know what happened? No one else seems to have this problem...I did the obligatory virus/adware scan abd restarted, but it still doesn't work. I've downloaded an older version, same problem. Totally clueless on this one.
