I wouldn't know how awesome this game is besides watching videos of UltraJMan playing it, since I have still been unable to find the reason why the game won't even get to the title screen for me.

I have Windows XP, DirectX 9.0c, 32 MB video memory, 512 MB RAM, 1024x768 resolution, 32-bit colors, S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR video card (7 years old, but apparently compatible with DirectX 9.0c)...

Only thing I could find about sound card was Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM).

try downloading this:

http://www.tomatoland.org/drdougbeach/BarkleyV109.zip

replace the old exe and include the new dll.

if it doesn't work try renaming the music folder to anything but music. tell me if any of this works.
Still giving me the same error, does it have to do with saudio.dll (last modified Saturday, September 10, 2005, 7:13 PM)?

Well, thanks, but that still doesn't clear up why I can't seem to get the game to run. It won't even get to the title screen.

I might as well list my specs for the hell of it:

512 MB RAM
32 MB video memory
S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR video card

What video card would be needed as minimum to play this game? I've virtually all possibilities as to why this game won't run.

I've registered just to find someone who could answer my question about what are the recommended specifications for running Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden. Every time I run it (and I seem to have all the files and DirectX 9.0c since I had a friend with the same number of files, same version of DirectX, and same OS and was able to run the game perfectly), it says "Unexpected error occured when running the game."
