I played the demo on 360 and found myself pretty bored, pretty quickly. I think the terrain changing element might make for some interesting multiplayer, but in single player, it just seems to be used for crappy puzzles and making your own cover.
honestly i only tend to get shooters for the multiplayer, so with any luck it will have more awesome shit in it, but the terrain gun and grenades alone look like a lot of fun

honestly, i would have believed the game was made by valve if i didn't know it was lucasarts. i think it has a lot of potential just based on the gameplay elements available in the demo- terrain manipulation, destructible environments... definitely thinking about buying it when it comes out

Every piece can be gotten as soon as you get to the room where it is. You don't ever get new abilities later that you can take back with you to earlier levels. That said, don't get hung up in one place forever. They made it easy to open all the levels for a reason. They didn't want people getting frustrated and giving up.
not entirely true. every piece except two can be gotten immediately, the two before the first "hunt" are obtainable only after you get the "hunt" piece, so you have to backtrack a room
the only qualm i had with the game is that i haven't the foggiest idea what the story meant
yahtzee's thing about the key breaking actually makes sense. in an area where going right makes time go forwards, and left makes time go backwards, you can't unlock a door from the right hand side because as you unlock it you're moving left and time goes backwards, meaning it relocks as it unlocks and your key is wasted

the army of OSI agents marched against the army of Henchmen ("murderflies", ie. season 2 finale) was a fantastic setup by brock, and then out comes the pedophile with an army of naked teenage foetuses (foeti? foetux?). capped off with brock's "oh... my bad." moment and it was almost as good as david bowie vs iggy pop for a climactic showdown
