dragon quest composer is basically Clint Eastwood or something

tries desperately to imagine dragon quest soundtrack if he got woke

Yeah I remember reading about. Separating art from artist is hard lol. I could never cut dragon quest tunes out of my life, like even if he was the one committing those war crimes, they're just too good.

Here's an Osamu Sato game that i have somehow never heard. It's odd considering there's been dozens of write-ups on the guy and he's revered as this spiritual mystery man of Japanese gaming, so you'd think all of his games would be common knowledge by now but I guess not. The game seems pretty cool, a lot less abstract than LSD but still pretty funky. I like how it handles exploration having layers upon layers of 2.5D planes stacked against each other.

i remember thinking gran turismo had the best graphics ever when it came out

I think the fruit basket colored bleachers are a lot more convincing than those 2D audience cutouts that a lot of games still use.

Whoa! I wouldn't mind a screensaver of that. 10:55 watching sunglasses morph in and out of someone's skin and then contort into eyebrows is a pretty magical sight. Also, mysterious forehead latex at 16:36.

This is bonkers! Guy tries to teach how to raise every household pet at the same time.

Morrone’s television career began as a guest on the News 12 program The Family Pet. In 1995, he started a cable show, Extra Help Pet Show, later renamed Metro Pets. His practice of crowding dozens of animals in a small space on-camera was allegedly born of necessity — Morrone claimed it was needed to keep the animals warm in the unheated television studio.

In Shamus, I like how every item you collect has its own title card: ALSO AVAILABLE: FORT APOCALYPSE (coming attractions?)

Someone from Amsterdam takes dead animal carcasses and engineers them into helicopters. Here's his cat Orville, named after one of the Wright brothers:

Makes me think of the cat bus from My Neighbor Totoro.

I had a pretty good idea the other day. What if someone leaked the entire script+bestiary for the next major Final Fantasy and before it managed to get anywhere near its release date, an RPG Maker 2000 enthusiast just beat them to the punch and made the entire game in like a week or so. And it's got everything those FF crazies are into: floating rocket boats, space demons, underwater cyberpunk cities run by electric eels, fancy pants, gun dogs, Christian symbolism, and of course, CRYSTALS! Just picturing thousands of fans fussing with this archaic software, hissing at their screens, trying desperately to just get the thing to recognize English characters (I always had trouble with that). I'd imagine certain swathes of entitled gamers getting enraged that they're now "obligated" to play the "shitty fanhack" because Square Enix REFUSES to release their game fast enough.

Has this the ever happened, a fangame predating the real game, possibly becoming the real game, pulling up the number two bench seat for its big sweaty multi-billion dollar time-paradox baby? I really wish this would happen, but, with none of the consequences of course; People still get to keep there jobs and go on vacations with their families and live happy lives like they ought to. I mean if someone did do this, it probably wouldn't have much of an effect in the grand scheme of mainstream videogame culture. I'm sure there would be a few jokes about how it IS the REAL game made by the REAL PEOPLE and the actual company trying to take it down for legal reasons are just a band of posers. And Square Enix would shakes its fist and draw some studded leather jackets to vent its rage. DUPED AGAIN SQUEENIE!!

Also what's that game with the cave worm? I wanna see what happens to him.

Has anyone heard of circuit bending? People find old electronics and fuss with the wiring to create janky makeshift instruments. The most commonly repurposed devices seem to be old children's music toys. Here's the video I found out about it.

Also, not a big X-files guy but that was a pretty fun episode. I just remember one line where the bad guy game dev was basically saying that if people start dying in his game, then all the angry backlash will make him rich. lol

Some pretty cool warping effects in this otherwise blandly polished endless runner. At 1:00, There's something really foreboding about the way the 4-building-long cityscape stretches fruit rollup-like across the screen. All the buildings slant towards you as if the idea of light vandalism in this otherwise utopian city sends a big enough shock to collapse a skyscraper. Also, It looks like the uploader is emulating the game, which is a free smartphone app, on his computer, which is interesting.

Author Chuck Tingle writes some pretty high concept gay erotica.

He's published a lot of books on Amazon.
