It's very cool, I like it a lot. Now get rid of the Rudra mountains and it will be cool+1!

3-tile rule is sooo passe, guys!

Professional RPG Maker users of today use 1-tile rule instead.

@Eschatologist - great screenshot, but you've made the necessary corrections to contrast "in reverse". What I mean is that (for the most part) floors should be lighter, so that the sprites stand out, and walls darker. Try making the sidewalks light gray, and preferably using a new color ramp (i.e. not the same colors you used for the buildings).

BTW, same goes for details. Floors should have minimal details compared to the walls.

The original screen was good except for those floors; make them lighter and it shoul be fine.

Zombies: The Beginning (courtesy of Cinemageddon).

A shameless Aliens ripoff. With zombies. Instead of aliens.

Bruno Mattei (RIP) at his best.

I voted for hima's DotPLUS.

Frankly, this was the only entry which was playable, and a damn good game.

The others looked like they were whipped in a week, and not two months. OK, except Gravity, but it was so confusing I gave up very fast.

You can slow down pretty much every boss in the game, and it's one of the first things you should do in each boss battle! Well, that and casting Protect+Shell on your whole party.

Shell/all, Slow, Libra, Summon, Curaga/all :)
Keep using Libra and Summon and he should fall. I was a bit lucky as he kept casting Osmose and not offensive spells for most of the fight.

You don't need the abilities to beat the game, sometimes they actually make it too easy...

There are already such games; they are called tabletop wargames.

There is a handful of fantasy games which simulate small skirmishes similar to FFT battles, e.g. Confrontation 3, Hell Dorado, Alkemy, even GamesWorkshop's Mordheim.

Straight transfer of FFT mechanics would create an utterly unplayable boardgame. The system is too complicated, the game would require such an enormous amount of dice rolling it would get tiresome after the first turn. Not to mention HP's and MP's above one hundred points in a boardgame is a no-no.

I've just finished Tower of Zot or whatever it's called (the one in which you lose Yang and Cid soon after).

I must say the battle with cyber Lugae was simply awesome. You see, in this version he uses an attack which inverts all damage; now healing magic does damage, and all attacks and offensive spells heal (it affects both your party and Lugae). He casts Restore on your whole party dealing damage, but you can easily heal yourself with physical attacks (which often miss).

The best part was when I had Rydia down and he cast Reverse for the second time, making all magic work normally. I double casted Raise and party Curaga with Rose, but before she managed to finish them, Lugae threw another Reverse. The result wasn't pretty :) (I managed to win with 2 characters though)

This game rocks. I think there was no boss battle without such cool moments; the game's hard, but not SMT 3 hard (unless you gamefaq it or powerlevel). Some Decant abilities are broken, though (Doublecast, Attract, Counter).

Yeah, these enemies are ridiculous. And they often hunt in packs of two plus a Centaur Knight.

I beat them by equpping Cecil with an ice-halving armor/shield? (found on the first or second floor) and attacking them normally, healing with Cura when needed. Thankfully they don't appear that often on higher floors.

To beat MomBomb you simply have to defend with everyone. Cecil and Yang should survive.

At the moment I'm at the Dwarf Castle and just got raped by Golbez. This guy is insane, I just can't keep up with his speed and his damage output is crazy; and everytime I manage to ressurect someone, he dusts them with a multi target spell (Bio is seriously overpowered).

One thing I like in this version is that many bosses are vulnerable to status ailments; you can slow them down, curse them, even silence them! The game also seems impossible without Protect and Shell, but you can cast them on the whole party at once and they never wear off (unless the character dies).

Try these movies (all are B/C-grade sword and sorcery flicks):

Amazons (1986)
Ator 1/2/3/4 (1982/1984/1987/1990)
Barbarian Queen 1/2 (1985/????)
Beastmaster (1982)
Conquest (1983)
Deathstalker 1/2/3/4 (1983/1987/????/1990)
Dragonslayer (1981)
Gor 1/2 (1988/1989)
Hawk the Slayer (1980)
Invincible Barbarian (1982)
Kull the Conqueror (1997)
Magic Sword (????)
Sorceress (1982)
Sword and the Sorcerer (1982)
Thor the Conqueror (1983)
Warrior and the Sorceress (1984)
Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 1/2 (????)

(for the release dates marked with ????, check IMDB)

Overall most of the fantasy movies from the eighties are crap, but some do have a specific kind of atmosphere that may make them worth watching. I recommend you to watch at lkeast the following movies from the list:

Conquest (Lucio Fulci's only fantasy movie; a blend of horror and fantasy; has much gore and a bow firing homing arrows  :)
Deathstalker 2 (one of my favorite movies of all time; a kind of parody of sword and sorcery flicks; has boobies)
Hawk the Slayer (very minimalistic, but has a great atmosphere; has a rapid firing elf archer - a proto-Legolas, but better)
Sword and the Sorcerer (one of the more competent unknown fantasy movies I've ever seen; has two kickass magic swords in it)

The rest are pretty much too derivative and forgettable to bother with. Unless you're a hardcore B-movie fan :) I guess you could also watch the ator series (1 and 2 are the most generic s&s movies ever, the third one is very dreamlike, the fourth one I have yet to watch).

This is one of the few games that really captured the atmosphere of those classic anime shows, mostly thanks to the wonderful comicbook-like cutscenes.
The game itself does feel too RPG Makerish however - the towns and the dungeons are rather uninspired, the maps are rather bland, and even the way the characters walk reminds me of some games from the previous (NES) generation. On the other hand PS4 sports really awesome epic boss fights, which totally make up for the mediocre exploration part. Also, many of the monster and boss designs were (and maybe even still are) simply unparalleled. Bonus points for it being a sci-fi jRPG, which was rather unheard of at the time (at least in the US).
I consider it to be one of the best oldschool jRPGs I've played, even though I had to cheat to get through it (grinding wore me off quickly). The atmosphere, the music and the characters fortunately kept me playing till the very end.

Teleport your party to the demon realm, and once you're in the labirynth section (the one at the beginning of the dungeon), advance towards the westernmost part of it. She should be easy to spot :) Just save beforehand, because she has a solo boss battle, which may result in a game over.

Last movie I saw was The New York Ripper. A nice giallo, if somewhat illogical at times. The best part is that the ripper talks like Donald Duck :)
Tonight I will probably watch Zombi 2 (Zombie Flesh Eaters).
As for actual projections at a cinema, it was 300. Good thing I was with friends, because I wouldn't have been able to sit through the whole movie if I had been alone.
BTW, I enjoyed Uwe Boll's House of the Dead :)
