I watched Chungking Express the last night. Split into two halves, we follow two policemen from hong kong dealing with the breakup of a relationship and observe how their mental states have been affected(collecting cans of tin pineapple with the expiry that is specifically within a month, talking to household items).

The movie is quite sweet and optimistic, showing us that better things may be around the corner if you're willing to notice. This is especially present in the second story, which is my preferred of the two. The cinematography is stunning. It reminds me of a real world blade runner with its focus on convenient stores and fast food corners heavily lit in strong neon colours. And even though I have never been to hong kong, I get a real sense of culture and society of 90s hong kong. I've read that it was made cheaply and quickly, so it makes sense that a lot of the extras could be real people going about their business (I can't confirm that this true).

There is a lot more to be said about the film, but this is all I can think of saying right now.

Hi everyone!

I used to visit gamingw a few years back and I was surprised to see it has been taken down. Then I remembered something about salt world (something to do with a new name suggestion?) and found that the community is still here!

Anyway, you may not remember me as I didn't post that often, but did spend a great deal of time on here reading other peoples posts. Usually when I did post it was in the music creation forum. In the past years I graduated from uni and am now doing a masters in film music composition at the national film and television school http://www.nftsfilm-tv.ac.uk.  I'm 6 months into my first of two years and I'm getting a really great education alongside working with a lot of brilliant creative students, great tutors and have had some really cool masterclasses from some top industry people. I wish I could post some of films here, but I'm not allowed as that would disqualify them from being entered into festivals.

Anyway, thats basically what I've been up to. It feels weird to be posting on here again and I was quite surprised that my account still exists and my stupid avatar is still on here ha. But time permitting, I'll hopefully stick around for a bit!

p.s. whats really cool is that the film school now has a game creation course, which means I still get to write music for computer games :-)

Becuase I pay a shit load and its kinda ridiculous :/

I basically pay about £570 ($920 USD) a month inlcuding council tax and bills for a three bedroom house with two other friends. Considering I don't earn that much at the moment, it's kind of annoying to see so much of my pay cheque go on rent.

The benefits are that I'm in a pretty awesome place, but it would be nice to have a bit more money to play with.

What do you guys pay?

thats cool, but would you run the risk of overheating the amp by putting objects on top of the grill at the top? It would actually save me space to do the same as you, but I have always been slightly concerned about it

pretty impressive rendering, especially for one guy. Do we know how long it took him to render and what computer power he used?

True, but I got them both when they first came out, hoping I might to be able to get into them, it just never really happened.

didn't you say in a previous topic that you are gonna buy FFXIII regardless of bad reviews?

well from someone who lives in London, it was kind of odd considering they are about 3-4 miles apart and I swear at one point in the film they were both in the same shot

yeah I saw that the other day and thought it was pretty entertaining. Robert Downey Jr seems to be great in everything he does and seeing London in Victoria times never looked so great. The only part that was a bit weird was when they

Why don't they just use the full body x-ray scanners on all passengers?
