Fuck you earl.  You may not like me, but roughly a year or so ago I did my part to code a new mainsite with panda and the whole thing fell apart just like anything else anyone has tried in the past.  I also volunteered to help with the blog, as I work with Wordpress on an almost daily basis and have done so for over a year now, but somehow or another that got overlooked as well.  People like you make me feel like it was more of a waste of time and effort than I ever thought it could be.  

Also, speaking from experience, probably the best thing you guys could do is just stop talking about this altogether and just fucking do it.  Whatever it is, whatever your plans are, whatever needs to happen in the near future - just fucking do it.  Trying to take everyone's thoughtless opinion into consideration is only going to slow the process down, and if any of you haven't noticed already one of the trademarks of failure thus far as far as updating the mainsite goes has been an endless fucking topic where every snide little fuck gets to wiggle out of their crack in the floor and voice their senseless thoughts on the matter.  

It's a novel idea to keep everyone informed and get new input, but ultimately pointless.  Just get it over with and let us know where to sign our names.

Also I prefer Heineken when I'm at home relaxing.  At the bar it depends on how adventurous I'm feeling and how much money I have. 

Being pissed has absolutely no value at all unless you plan to fucking do something about it.  Will a bunch of mspaints of Mohammed with boobies change anything?  Who knows.  This whole 'Everybody Draw Mohammed Day' idea actually got a bit of publicity so maybe it'll actually have some influence.  As far as this community goes it was just a stupid idea that I thought might pass some slow hours at work.  Instead I get a bunch of smug, pissy kids who want to bitch about South Park or the FCC because it apparently isn't avant-garde to care about something relevant unless the vehicle for expressing your distaste is adequate.

Yes, let's forget about an issue that is relevant in our society and worry more about something in another country none of us can change.  At least with something like censorship you have a remote chance to band together with a group of other dissident voices and possibly inspire some degree of change.  What exactly are your plans for ridding the world of Ahmadinejad, SK? 

Also stop whining about South Park or Mohammed.  I thought it was pretty clear from the beginning that this is more about censorship and essentially using the whole idea as a means to say HI FUCK YOU FCC/NETWORK EXECS.  It doesn't fucking matter how any of you feel about those poor Muslims and us stupid fat Americans ridiculing their faith.  I mean, if that's your opinion then whatever, but the essential argument here is about not allowing any organization or entity actively censor any form of media solely because it's stepping on the toes of some overly sensitive religious group.

Firstly, again, I have not watched television IN GENERAL in over a year.  No news, no sports events, no paid programming, and not a single fucking episode of South Park.  I actually happen to agree with you OH SOUTPARK?  THATS   SO 90s!! people, as from what I've heard it's not really that funny anymore and, you know, I'm not 16 years old.  Not the point.

I also linked to Jon Stewart's little rant not because The Daily Show is the sole exception to my personal TV rule, but because aside from the 911 bullshit he actually made a couple of valid points.  From what I've seen in the past many of you guys used to prop him up as some sort of liberal media icon just like everyone else, so whatever.  MY BAD GUYS I didn't know all of a sudden you guys realized he's just another stupid personality.

If for once GW isn't going to bandwagon the shit out of some vague idea, or bandwagon SOME OTHER idea in place of the original because that's what groups of disillusioned 20-somethings do nowadays then okay!  I'm game.

The only point even approaching relevance to the original discussion I've seen is Vellfire's OH YOU ARE MAD ABOUT MOHAMMED WHY HAVE YOU NOT CAMPAIGNED FOR BOOBS FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS HUH.  And you know what?  I think I've actually realized that I'm a much bigger fan of boobs than Mohammed.

I don't really watch South Park and don't even know what point there was, if any, in portraying Mohammed in a bear suit.  Not the point anyway.  The point is that the threats alone prompted the network to censor the clip when there were otherwise no plans whatsoever to do so.  Now I don't know if this qualifies as your GRANDE ASSERTION or whatever the fuck it was you were going on about, but are you saying you basically agree that mainstream media should be censored to quell the disgruntled whimperings of an extremist minority? 

Everyone has probably heard about this already, but basically Comedy Central recently censored an episode of South Park depicting Mohammed in a bear suit after some obscure blog aimed what were essentially death threats at Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

So a couple of years back I designed a website for a good friend of mine who is a self-ascribed pop surrealist artist.  He recently contacted me wanting some simple changes done to the existing site, and in true artist form he has absolutely no money to pay me.  Instead, he's offering my choice of up to three of his quality prints shipped to me for free.  You can check them out here.

Right now I'm thinking of going with Layne Staley, Hunter S. Thompson and Stephen King as they all three seem to represent different periods of my life that were awesome.  A few summers back I spent several weeks sitting around in the sweltering heat and learning different Alice in Chains tracks on guitar, and in retrospect this period in general seemed like the highlight of the year.  Good friends, good times, bonfires, some random gothic kid with Sephiroth hair stalking a friend's sister and hiding in a tree when we finally got sick of it and mobilized our gang of misfits to confront him. 

You may think I'm slow, but I only recently discovered the life and works of the Good Doctor within the last couple of years.  As much as any relatively normal person could be, I was very much influenced by both his writing and general accounts of his life and researched him for a good six months. 

Stephen King is more for nostalgia.  From the age of 11 to 16 I'm pretty sure I read every book he had written up to that point in time, and even recently I've picked up a couple of the newer releases.  Some consider him a hack, however, I still enjoy the vast majority of his work and think his essays on the craft of writing are very insightful.

Do you have any other decently marketable skill?  Right now all I'm getting out of this is that you studied for a few years, know the language and culture and are simply planning to join the UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES so you can get over there for however long they decide to let you stay.  And that's IF they send you there in the first place.  

I don't know, dude.  If you already have your degree I would recommend thinking a bit more about what you seriously want to do with it and how you could be useful in society there.  Maybe get some sort of certification or licensure in some sort of trade you could utilize here and then work until you can afford to consider moving there with your own resources.

It just seems to me that there should be more to it than learning the language and promptly joining with any random organization or entity might put you on a plane/boat over there.
