I felt super nostalgic earlier going through old message boards, and I'm shocked to see people are still posting... never thought I'd see the word "hipster" used in this context. Apparently, I joined in 2002 - I can't believe this account still works.

habbo hotel. probably already mentioned.

i remember there was also some topic about the Saw movies, and everyone started making these joke Saw scenarios. i hate those movies.

also, the post-modern joke topic was a lot of fun.

Guys I have a small request for you... I'd like to watch a coming of age movie but with people in their late teens early twenties 18-22 or something of the kind. I don't really care if the main protagonist is female or male. Most coming of age movies have younger characters in them and for some reason I'm really wanting to watch something like this. I also do not care if I need subtitles to watch the movie so anything is good! Thanks
i thought C.R.A.Z.Y. was alright.

I saw the Informant and Where the Wild Things Are. Both are pretty good! The Informant, I thought, is really good. All the overwhelming twists and turns make it really funny. Wild Things is a little incoherent, but beautiful and bittersweet.

anyone watch the barbara walters thing before? i usually never watch oscars but when i watched this time it just seemed so too-long and fluffy and self-indulgent for an award show. nph opening with his routine was annoying plus tyler perry was cringe-worthy. there was just a lot of awkwardness!!

oh yeah, i forgot about this. this is directed by John Krasinski, right? I'm not sure if i give a flying hoobastank what he's got to say but i guess i am interested in a david foster wallace adaptation even though i made it about what 60 pages into infinite jest on my most valiant attempt before succumbing to the thickness in my right hand (i'll do it one day. definitely!). i remember thinking the trailer looked bad. very JOKEY or whatever, in a predictable way. i haven't read the book so i didn't really have any right to expectations but i thought the book was gonna be like a series of interviews with Charlie 'The Black Hole' Sheen

i'll probably see it soon now that it's out.
ya and he makes an appearance as this complete jerk. i don't think it was a complete failure. it was probably just doomed from the start since a film adaptation of dfw fiction kind of contradicts his whole approach.

watched Lost in Translation again

i just picked up infinite jest again for another attempt and i'm mostly liking it so far at about 150 pages in. there are some really hilarious parts with Don Gately or the Erdedy guy and the pot obsession. anyone get through this book?
