Don't forget the cost of travelling around where ever you're staying. If you're planning on going to London, the day passes are £10 which is about $16 which sounds like it'll be more than your accommodation.

Biking across Europe is probably the best idea...

glad someone posted phillip glass. his opera 'einstein on the beach' is genius. worth listening to at least once. especially knee 5. all his other less weird stuff is amazing as well.

you should have waited until she wandered into the garage... you could have had a pet aunt.

when does the imaginarium of dr parnassus come out in the states? i saw it this past weekend but haven't heard anyone talk about it at all... i kind of feel like a 12-year-old gay kid for liking it so much.

Very angsty at that moment in time too. (She's much happier now!)

Jesus, I absolutely hate people getting married so young.  I know of two people that are at least two years younger than me (I'll be 20 in a few months), one getting married in two months and another who just recently got married.  The one who just recently got married met her husband in college.  I did some math in my head and realized that she would have only known him for a year before marrying him.  A year???  I barely even feel like I'm more than acquaintances with my college friends after two full years, so MARRIAGE?  These kids are crazy.

at 22, all the peope my age who have gotten married are now either divorced or on their second kid... or divorced WITH two kids...

yeah, dietcoke's right. it really depends what area of each you learn and how deep you go into it. it'd probably be useful to talk to profs or upper year students to get an idea of how they relate.

if the advisor says it doesn't matter which one comes first, chances are they probably don't have much material that crosses over, especially if one is not a prereq for the other.

if taking linear algebra before diff eq is up for debate, i would definitely suggest doing so. i took linear algebra and physics beforehand and found that they definitely helped... i would probably suggest multivariable calc before too if your school is anything like mine was.
