Haha I wish I could come up with that at the time when I was designing characters. Maybe as a secret character or something in the future :P

Got another character model done today. This is Kon Crete, a close combat oriented character.  Most of his attack has close to middle range, and most of his special moves will allow you to get close to your opponent quickly and safely.

Andyw, is your game finished? I can't wait to play because it looks omg so awesome.  The motion blur effect really give it a unique and cool style for some reasons :)








Finally got most of the basic stuffs like the Game Maker version finished. The black tile on the left is a sample of unpassable tile ( though it doesn't block the bullet ).  GUI and most of the stuffs here still placeholder.

This is the furthest zoom out in the game, so it wouldn't get any smaller. But I'd like to know if the characters and bullets are too small. 


I wish I know how to export RM map to a readable file, so that I can just use Rmxp as a stage editor. *sigh*

This is all explained in the help file.  Try searching in the help file should get you all the algorithms the engine uses.

As for int-f and similar attribute, those will decide which stat should influence the effectiveness of the skill.  But as for the number, I cannot tell since it depends on your game, really.

 Yup. This is made in my original engine, using DXLib as a backend library. DxLib 3.00 has just been released and it support 3D now :D

Glad to hear that you like'em :D
The main reason of the change is the difficulty in programming it in 2d. The GM version was completely 2d with a fake 3d background, this make it difficult to create new stages, especially with obstacles and all :(​  I wasn't really understand how 3D in Game Maker works too, so I gave up.

Other reasons being GM isn't powerful enough and it doesn't support 4 gamepads. Better yet, it doesn't even support my language :(​  *sigh*

So, I hope this is a change for better. Piti , the graphic guy, wants to get practicing on 3d skill too, so that's why the sprite are pre-rendered lol.

I've decided to remake the game completely and turn it into somewhat 2.5d  ( 3d bg with 2d sprite )


The character sprites will be pre-rendered 3d , so that it's easier to animate XD

I dunno but I personally think this is ridiculous. Unless they can prove that what they claim to be unfair advantage is a major one, this is very unfair and seem like politic to me :/

Thanks! What do you mean by faster? The scrolling speed?  Anyway, this is a game I used to make in Game Maker and then I moved it to C++, changing from vertical shmup to horizontal. Now the number of bullets can goes up to 2,000 without a drop in FPS XD ( Main reason why I moved away from GM)

That actually looks really good, especially the blood and the lighting.
I think it's how you see inside the house through the roof that make it looks weird.  I don't know if it'll be better with a map with this room and black border.

Looking good so far! Although I find the interface to be a bit weird. Maybe because there's a space on the bottom right of the screen. But maybe that just me :)

Try to make it look like widescreen, hoping that players won't feel like the play area isn't too small. What do you think? The bg graphics are all placeholders, as well as the enemies. I also find enemy bullets too big @_@

Most of the depressing films I've watched are horror/crime related films :/  So, I'm not sure if this is the kind of depressing that you want but I'll give the names anyway.

- Se7en : Yeah, the ending made me depress for a few days. I doubt no one here has never seen this though :/

- The Girl Next Door : This one is based on a true crime about a girl being tortured to her death by her stepmother and the kids from the neighbourhoods. It's really brutal and very hard to watch.

- Eden Lake : A horror movie about a couple on their honeymoon trip but ended up pissed some kids around there off. The kids were really scary in the movie, and not in the "children of the corn" kind of way.

Welcome! I've noticed FPS : 170 in your screenshot. Is that an ABS? If so, that's really impressive! :)


Remaking my ruby shmup into C/C++.  Now I can have a steady 60 FPS even with 2000 bulets. Yayh!

No, Final Fantasy Tower Defense ( Or Crystal Defender, as they call it ) :/   It's coming on PSP or NDS,  I don't remember.

I mean, they even have Itadaki Street - Square Enix version. ( It's like a Game Of Life, a board game , but you play as characters from Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest instead.) so I'd say a fighting game is not that ridiculous...

My friend didn't believe that Square can make a fighting game but this game changed his opinion. Now he plays it like mad :/   So I guess you don't have to be a Final Fantasy fan to like this game.   I would love to try this game to but I don't have a PSP, heh.
