That would be epic to see his hands flailing about in exaggerated movements in the front of the screen.

Also I've just realised this WOULD work in first person. When you're injured/dying your breathing gets accelerated and you start moaning and shit. It could work :s
OH and they could also make the screen throb red like a heartbeat, because they haven't done that in a billion other games.

here is my awesome new ending btw; Isaac escapes, hes on the shuttle, and Nicole appears and says YOU DID IT. he takes off his helmet, leans in for the kiss...and then the camera shows he's sucking face with a necromorph with a bunch of little tentacles going BLEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEH as it licks up your face THIS ENDING WOULD OWN.

I like mine better,

Isaac escapes, He's on the shuttle, He takes off his helmet. He relaxes, Then you sit there for 5 hours watching him plot a course and run some diagnostics, He sets off a beacon. watches some movies. Tries to sleep a bit. Gets a Reply to his signal. Gets rescued by another ship. He is put in quarantine, you sit and watch him for 3 days do nothing but kick around and get poked and prodded by doctors. He's given a clean bill of health. They debrief him, All the while he doesn't say a word and uses exaggerated hand movements and facial expressions to convey the story. They get him back to a space station, he gets a job Fixing Spaceships. Falls in love with a Fellow mechanic. The two hit it off Famously because neither of them talk. They move in together, Settle down. Have a kid, they raise the kid, Eventually Isaac passes away peacefully due to old age surrounded by friends and his new family.

Actually now i want to see Isaac Convey the storyline to deadspace using exaggerated hand movements. that alone would've kicked ass.

No, there really is supposed to be a poison pod in there and I actually killed it. And I verified where the line lead, it's definitely right there.
Well then do what we used to do in videogames BEFORE we had a GPS system, EXPLORE and find some more things to kill.
Im not sure its bugged i think you might be missing something

You can get into Little Lamplight if you have the Child at heart Perk, Or your speech is high enough,
But yeah, Once in you cant proceed further without the quest.

But the point is when you upgrade it, it's NOT weak and kills faster than pretty much every other gun in the game. Also it's 'instant hit' so enemies can't dodge it like they can with the big, heavy guns.

By that Logic, When you upgrade the other guns they aren't weak either.
Fully upgraded force gun shoots grenades that kill a bunch of monsters with 1 round.
Fully upgraded assault rifle requires you to pump rounds into them until they drop.
Hell, Not so upgraded charge cannon will kill most things in 1 shot.

Besides its just a different play style. I spent way too much time in the game beating enemies to death and stomping on them, Why? Cause i thought it was rather gory and epic. Other people would use the stasis module to freeze certain enemies to give them an advantage, Some people probably loved the flame thrower.

megaton...  ? Never been to a town called megaton *starts to whistle*.

Thx for the tip Ax dude.

Anyone got some quests to recommend because Im searching for something to do in the game, instead of the main quest., also anyone checked out the Dunwhich building apperently some bad shit went on in there
Dunwhich is a massive tribute to Lovecraft, Fun place. Full of Gouls. Has a melee weapons bobblehead. Thats about it really.
As for stuff instead of the main quest, Dude wonder around, Look at those little empty triangles on your compass and investigate.
Try find the Alien crash site, Its near power station 13. (There is no triangle for the ship)
Just ass around trying to find schematics for the custom weapons.
Theres HEAPS to do,
Personally i would do the main quest until you learn to use powerarmor. Then i would go exploring.

but im evil........., I actually want to search him out and kill him

and im a melee character.

I find it hard to be a stuck-up / evil wanderer who only cares for things that matter to him with the low amount of quests which mostly are Karma positive

Then what you do is you be nice to the android, Get the reward from him and tell him you'll keep his secret, Then go to Zimmer, And tell him where the android is. You get the rewards from both sides of the Quest : D
and alittle bit of good karma wont hurt you, just go shoot some of the people in megaton or something or a random trader to balance it out.

EDIT:
My Current Character i tagged Energy Weapons, Science and Speech. And the Stats major in Charisma, luck and intellegence (All to level 9 on creation then i sought out those bobbleheads first) The start of the game was hard, due to the lack of Energy weapons. But I Got perks in anything that made me do more damage and anything that added to my critical hit. Speech and science i maxed out first, With speech giving me a ton of extra cash to buy up energy weapon ammo, Then i maxed out Energy weapons and repair. And despite my lack of carry weight and health i kick a fair bit of ass. Im also a rude jerk to most people and kill alot of scavengers.
I tried to kill dogmeat but he just gets knocked unconcious each time : (

The obvious parts and level design really ruined it for me, There is this one bit that i just keep going over in my head, over and over.
In some underground subway area, There is a chainlink wire fence door, there is a gap between the ceiling and the top of the door that faith could squeeze through. But no, you cant. INSTEAD you have to wallrun and jump over a massive gap to the other side, activate a switch to deactivate a massive fan that has no safety covers or anything like that, you know giant fan, futuristic city, you would figure their OH&S people would've pounced all over that. But anyway, crawl through the deactivated giant fans to get to the other side of the door.
I mean Fuck, I'VE climbed over stuff like that, WHILE DRUNK.

And then there was the broken door, with a lock in the janitors office...... one lock. to unlock this ONE DOOR. To get to this janitors office you must run up a wall, leap off the wall and swing across a bar and climb up a catwalk.. where the railing is conveniently broken.

but I still think this would be better in first person (if they figured out how to get the health meter on screen without a GUI still)
You, Can fuck RIGHT off.
The Gui was fantastic, there is no way you could do that in a first person game. Becuase it would look like Every other first person shooter.... or Doom3. Speaking of which, i did like how when the lights went out it was pitch black. I would've liked more instances of pitchblackness. You know not the entire game, But afew more times would've been fun.

I only used the buzzsaw gun's secondary fire, Simply because i got WAY too much ammo for it and never used it the buzzsaw. The primary fire left me abit too open and was strange to guage.

On normal the pistol never left my Inventory. I would throw other weapons in there to see how they went and also when i built up Stupid amounts of ammo for a weapon i didn't like.

If you cant find ammo for the gun you like you can always sell off ammo for weapons you dont use and then use that credit to buy ammo for your pistol.
Or you can do what i did and save for those Fucking Nodes.

Crusader

I would think abit like Darksector/Gears of war/Dead space, Over the shoulder shooter would fit it well.

Flashback/Fade to black

Something like drakes fortune could work for this game.

Hostile Waters

Alot more upgrades, alot more driveable shit, alot more places to fuck around with, make it abit like the old carrier command.

I tend to ignore reviews with random nouns capitalized.

I told you all its code!

I played it again last night, It has some good parts that i had fun and enjoyed playing, but they are not enough to correct the flawed levels and the clumbsy combat system.

*sighs*
I just read through this topic, And read all of your excited posts, and i remember feeling like that about this game. But I'm sorry to say, Its bad.

The Demo flowed so nicely. Once you look past the part about the cutscenes looking like they were made by a 15 year old in flash the demo was nice, The pace to start off with was good, it flowed so nicely. The rooftops had this feeling to them as if you could go anywhere, you drop down the vent and flee the guards, It was great, Nicely paced and short. A Pretty good demo to introduce the rest of the game.

The rest of the game, Not so great. I've played it for about an hour and a half before i got frustrated at the thing and went back to playing fallout3. So honestly i cant call it the rest of the game, But its EA, I don't see them changing their ways.

To sum up my opinions of this, This game has about as much Freedom As Contra or any 2d Platformer. The only difference is the graphics and camera angle.
As i progress i find less and less places where the area feels open, There is always a Specific way the game wants you to go. And if you don't go that way, You die, And have to start over from the checkpoint. Which makes things so fucking annoying when you can see one or two other ways to do it. But for some reason the developers decided to put you in a Boxed area, where your one escape is over a Barbed wire fence, And they threw in a good 7 troops with shotguns too, Who start shooting at you while your on a Moving platform with nowhere to go.

The Level design Gets to me too. In the Demo i was thinking "Here is a Runner who Exploits her Surroundings to get from point A to point B as best she can" the rest of the game is filled with environments that unless you are a Super Athletic Parkour runner, You would have no HOPE getting around, There are walkways with missing sections and handrails, Fences for no Reason. Well placed sandbags so you can Springboard up things, Big padded mats on the roof for you to land on.

This being said, I haven't finished the game, and i haven't done the race mode. I would say rent or borrow it rather than buy.

I know, it confused me when I finished the game, cause you only see him once...but then again, after the scene with Pyramid Head in the hotel, I was scared of moving around the halls and rooms too quickly, certain that he would be around the corner....so it did build up suspense. I was always wondering, where will he turn up next? But then for him not to show up again at all? What was the point? But I guess the Silent Hill series isn't Silent Hill without him.

By the way, did anyone else find the zombie nurses extremely hot in this game? Im a girl, and im not into pussy....but still. Hot damn girls! I wish I had that kind of cleavage, haha  :naughty:

He showed up twice for me,
Once

twice

And the silent hill series is COMPLETELY the silent hill series without him. He wasn't in 1 or 3 or 4, His bastard younger step-brother was in Zero, And i only think he was thrown in there because the game borrowed heavly from the film, And he was only in the film for fan service. I mean i like the dude and all, But really he doesn't need to keep popping up in everything.

As for the nurses. I went to a party with people dressed as zombie nurses.
They had cleavage of that calibre.......
yep

I played it in 1080p with surround sound. SHIT WAS AWESOME.
Played Fallout 3. This still gets my Rank for best game 2008
I do Gripe about the whole Shop aspect of it. And the ammo pickups from corpses. And although i wish it was more survival horror than an Action game, I like it for what it is, Its pretty Rad.

If they put more effort into giving Issac an Evasive measure, As in you could weld doors closed, and lure the creatures to other areas and box them into compartments instead of just killing everything. Something like that. Or make a charge that you put on the hull and Depressurize the Room, sucking everything out. Then you seal it back up with sealant.

Ax, my old friend, you will so not be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!
it looked like the exact same pyramid head to me...you only really see him in one scene in the entire game, but he looked the same to me...
Cheri my dear its a pleasure as always.

I forgot i posted about it here.

Pyramid head/boogyman was the same design as the one from the movie, He was different to the one from Silent hill 2 though. His knife also looked like a massive combat knife, But im still not sure he fits into the game.

Ok thoughts on the game, Now that i've had some time to let it soak in and such im kinda mixed on this game, They new combat style with dodging and over the shoulder camera for aiming. What i didn't like is that the Knife, Was the most powerful weapon you had, for its speed alone, The game looked nice, The mood was there but the story was a tad lacking i felt. I believe they borrowed too much from the movie. I would still rank it above some of the other games but I was still dissapointed, The game just seemed to lack that Melancholy flavor the others had,

Also Australia WHAT THE FUCK? You bitch and moan about a person getting drilled or cut in half, Then let deadspace in where the KEY gamefeature is Dissmemberment. Im not complaining deadspace was awesome, but it irks me.

I enjoyed this Game very much,
The Action was fastpaced and exciting.
The game looked pretty, The storyline was decent, Not the best but decent.
ATMOSPHERE OH YEAH!
It Didn't really bring anything new to the table, it combined afew gameplay aspects which was pretty cool. The slowmo and Grav-gun effect.

I Just wish the Npcs did alittle extra, you know to make it feel like you weren't the ONLY guy doing stuff.
Pending Fallout3 this may be my vote for best game 2008

Hi, You are Silent Hill 5, A game in a series i have been much a fan of, But you are not allowed in Australia. Because adults dont play computer games here, They are played mostly by Children, Despite what statistics show. Oh did we mention they are NOT a form of art and train all our children to kill things. And its fine to have Violence depicted in art because you HAVE to look at that through a different prism.

But enough of the nannystate bashing.

I have ordered my Copy of Silent Hill Homecoming. It will arrive hopefully today or tuesday (Monday is a public holiday)

What are people's opinions of the game so far? Those of you who have played it

Australians are set to get a Watered down version next year, of course with the standard Being screwed over Regional Prices aswell but fuck you guys

I laughed at this picture, For months i have been ranting about this thing and how the world will end to my co-workers. None of them believed me.

They were all "Large Hadron what?"

Then i FINALLY get a picture that can expell all doubt that this thing would cause the end of the world
